ISfollard and her mother, Mrs. Banes returned home on Sathr- day last atter an extended trip through the west, going through to the Coast and visiting in the state of Washington. They visited at Winnipeg; Regina, Edmonton and Calgary and then through the Rockey mountains to Vancouver and Victor- ia. Froin there they went to Port- land and Seattle and for three weeks they visitecl the latter's son, Dr. J. 'D. Banes, at Centernere in the Wen- atchee Apple district, also in the state of Washington. This_ district is noted for its large apple ranches, apples being grown there almost ex- clusively on irrigated farms.
