The Goderich Signal-Star, 1979-09-27, Page 14PAGE 14 —GODERICH SIGNAL -STAR, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 1979 Sports pa Cruickshank also to coach Signal Star juveniles Last week the Clinton Junior C Mustangs an- ,nounced that Doug Cruickshank of Goderich would coach the team along with Dennis Martin for the 1979-80 season. Cruickshank will assist with the Mustang coaching duties but only when it doesn't interfere or conflict with his job as coach of the Signal -Star Juveniles. He has been coaching the juveniles for several years and said he had no intention of abandoning the team this year. For the past couple of seasons the juveniles have played in the Shamrock League competing with teams from the Mooretown', Lucan and Strathroy area. But the team was informed that the WOAA has jurisdiction " in this area and Goderich would have to compete in the WOAA. , Cruickshank would rather have his team play in the Shamrock League and the only way around it was to move the Signal - Stars into the A category. The WOAA has no jurisdiction over A teams in this area. Last year the Goderich Minor Hockey Association fought an order moving its minor teams from the BB category to A.
