Kni'ixWMS Afternoon Auxiliary observes its 95th anniversar
A day to be recorded in
history was the ob-
servance of the 95th
anniversary off Knox
W,M,S, Afternoon
Auxiliary, Tuesday,
September 18 at 2:30 p.m.
The members en-
tertained visitors from
South Kinloss and
Lucknow Auxiliaries as
well as other Auxiliaries
in the Presbyterial -
Auburn, Belgrave,
Hensall, Seaforth and
Knox Arthur Circle for a
'total of 75 in attendance.
President, Mrs. G.
Kaitting, used the theme
hymn, "Unto the Hills",
for the Call to Worship
and opening hymn with
Mrs. C. Edward at the
piano. Afterwards a
personal welcomewas
given to everyone who by
their presence and •in-
terest, showed they were
living examples of the
motto, "Help me to live
for others, that I may live
like Thee".
Several members were
reported sick and some in
hospital, and those
present sincerely hoped
and prayed for their
speedy recovery.
The October meeting
will be a Thankoffering
meeting with Mrs. Edna
Pollock as guest speaker
and members will be
asked to answer the roll
call with a verse from the
Bible on "Thanks".
The Presbyterial Fall
Rally will be in Belgrave
on Wednesday, ,October
10 at 1:30 p.m. The guest
speaker.' will be Mrs.
Maclntosh, • missionary
on furlough from the
Korean Church in Japan.
The hymn, "The Lord's
my Shepherd", with an
old familiar tune was
then sung and during the
receiving of the offering
and dedication, Mrs.
Stuart Crouch of Seaforth
Aligill iyTgave a piano
solo.of familiar hymns.
Several of the ladies
from South Kinloss
Auxiliary sang two
favourite hymns, "Love
Lifted Me" ' . and
"Whosoever Will", to the
delight of all present.

read a brief history off
Knox W.M.S. Afternoon
Auxiliary as it pettained
to the Presbyterial of-
fices during the past 95
years and was recorded
in the Presbyterial
Historian Books which
was compiled by Miss
Belle Ca_na.pbe.11 of
Seaforth.
Mrs. Morgan Hen-
derson from the Lucknow
W.M.S. read two very
appropriate poems,
"What Does September
Mean" and "1 Thank
Thee Lord".
Mr's. C. Edward then
int-rstdta.ced the guest
speaker, Mrs. Derek
Nind, Immediate Past
President of the Stratford
Presbyterial, who gave a
splendid talk on
"Foundation Steps for an
Active Society", which
had much food for
thought.
Mrs. Robert McAllister
of Knox thanked the
speukcr and all who had
taken part in the program
and who had helped in
any way to make the 95th
anniversary possible. She
also thanked the visitors
and members of Knox for
their attendance.

Marina manager for
three years and an
assistant at the Goderich
and District Memorial
Community Centre for
two years, tendered his
resignation effective
Friday.
McIsaac told town
council September 17 that
he was leaving the town
work force. He did not
elaborate on his'reasons.
Wednesday morning he
said he had accepted a
position as manager of an
arena _complex in. Erabro.,-_

money
The Auburn and
District Lions Club met
last Wednesday evening!
The meeting began with a
Miner -served by the
Auburn Women's
Institute. Fifteen
members and five guests
were present. The
president, Lion Bill
Robertson, was in charge
of the meeting and the
secretary's report was
accepted on motion of
Lion Bud Chamney and
seconded.,by Lion Bill
Crawford
The guest speaker was
Deputy District Governor
Lion Don Coghlin from
the Howick Lions Club.
He .was thanked by Lion
Bud Chamney.
In the business, a
donation of $100 was
voted to go to the
Woodstock Disaster
Relief Fund and $50 was
donated to' the Blyth
Figure Skating Club on
motion of Lion Bud
Chamney and Lion Bill
Crawford.
Future projects include
improvements to the
Auburn ball diamond.
The baseball committee
are as follows: Chairman
• - Lion Clare Millian,
assisted by Lion Bill
Sproul, Lion Al Luna and
Lion Doug Chamney.
A motion to adjourn
was made"by Liom'Clare
Millian and seconded by
Lion Al L'Ituly,

three years old and
served people in the
village of Embro and
surrounding townships.
Embro is located
between Stratford and
Woodstock.
Mclsaac, began
working for the town in
April of 1977. He was the
manager of the town
marina in the summer
months and worked at the
arena in the winter.
