Kingsbridge CWL hear first fall reports

Twenty-three members
of the Kingsbridge CWL
attended the September
meeting on Monday
evening in the Parish
Hall with Mrs. Bob
Howard presiding.
Father Dentinger
opened the meeting with
Prayer and Mrs. Antone
Van Osch read the
minutes of the previous
meeting which were
adopted as correct. She
also read correspondence
in 'the absence of Mrs.
Tom Hogan. Several
thank you notes were
read from the grade eight
graduates; from Frank
and Isabel Doherty
showing their ap-
preciation for Peter's
special graduation dinner
and Mr. and Mrs. Joe
O'Keefe Jr., Mr. and Mrs.
Paul O'Donnell, Mr. and
Mrs. Tony Knoop Jr., for
their wedding gifts. We
received an invitation to
attend a Workshop on
Indoor Gardening
sponsored by the
Ministry •of Agriculture
and Food.
Treasurer's report was
given by Mrs. Walter
Clare and the Church Life
report was given by Mrs.
Carl Riegling. She
reported that two wed-
ding gifts had been
presented and ••a 25th
Wedding Anniversary
gift was presented to Mr.

and Mrs. Airie Van
Deipen. On July 13th,
thirty-three parishoners
made the annual
pilgrimage to St. Marys.
Mrs. Bob Howard
welcomed Mrs. Leo
(Cecelia) Miltenburg to
the meeting and
presented her with a gift
membership. Mrs. Jim
Gilmore reported that
she had sent five birthday
cards to senior citizens,
three get well cards and a
baby card. Mrs. John Van
Rooy reported on
catering. We have been
asked to cater at Lucille
Frayne's wedding
reception, October 13.
Mrs. Ron Menary. and
Mrs. Steve Wylds are
heading both Brownies
and Girl Guides. Pro Life
reporter, .Mrs. Mork
Dalton reported that the'
first meeting is Tuesday,
Sept. 11.
A motion was made by
Mrs. Jack Tigert,
seconded by Mrs. Joe
Courtney that a donation
be sent to the Field -
Springer Relief Fund
near Sturgeon Falls, Ont.
and to `the Woodstock
Tornado Relief Fund. All
were in favour.
A motion was also
made by Mrs. Bill Berry,
seconded by Mrs. Mark
Dalton that a donation be
made to St. Joseph's
Community School. A

editor of Crestline, the Centres . quarterly 1 newsletter, receives
congratulations from Bill Gregg, facility director, after Crestline placed
third in a hosRital newsletter contest sponsored by the national journal

Bluewater Centre's (under 499 beds, monthly

has been selected a (under 499 beds, three to
winner in the .annual six'. times a year),
Hospital Newsletter Category 2 (500 beds and
over, monthly- or
weekly), Category 2A
) 500 beds or over, three to
six times a year),
Category 3 (psychiatric
hospitals) and Category 4
(special health care
institutions).
Crestline 'Placed third
in Category 4. First and
second places were
• awarded to The Baycrest
Centre, Toronto and The
Children's Hospital of
Eastern Ontario in
Ottawa respectively.
There were a total of ten
entries across Canada.
This is only the second
year of publication for
Crestline. The quarterly
bulletin is designed
mainly to inform parents,
families, interested
community agencies and
individuals of programs
and events at Bluewater
Centre: as well as
developments within the
field of mental retar-
dation.
Crestline editor, Fran
Emerson, said that she
and her newsletter staff
of seven were quite proud
of the win. The first and
second place winners in
category 4, both have the
advantage of professional
public relations depar-
tments for their
Contest sponsored by the
national journal Health
Care In Canada.
Health Care in Canada
is published monthly by
Southam Business
Publications and is
designed 'to serve the
needs and interests of all
administrative and
supervisory personnel in
hospitals, nursing homes
and related health care
facilities.
The newsletter contest
is open to all health
related institutions and
entries are on a voluntary
basis. There are six
categories: Category 1
Ag. societies
to meet Nov. 7
At a recent meeting
held in St. Marys, plans
were finalizedfor the 1979
annual meeting of the
Ontario Association of
Agricultural Societies,
District 8, Huron -Perth.
This meeting will be
hosted by St. Marys
Agricultural Society and
will be held in the United
Church in St. Marys on
Wednesday, November 7.

PURPOSE: To discuss a proposed change in the Official
Plan of the Town of Goderich to redesignate the land
known as Lots 7 and!), Registered Plan No. 3, and more
specifically known as the Iond located on the east side
of the Huron Road between Walnut and Maple Streets
in the Town of Goderlch, from a Residential
designation to a Commercial designation.
Comments and participation are welcomed from all In-
terested persons.

Brother Carl's fortieth
Anniversary is being
planned.
A correspondent is
needed for the local
papers. The past few
months the league
members have taken
turns. If anyone wishes to
do it for themselves,
perhaps even a high
school student, let the
president know as the
paper and stamps sup-
plied were left with her.
For the present, Mrs.
Cyril Austin has volun-
teered for the next two
weeks.
Visiting the sick in
hospital will he Mrs. John
Austin for Wingham and
1\ s. Bernadine Kenney
for Goderich.
A thank you note is to
be sent to Dennis Dalton
for his free time and good
job he made fixing a
rocking chair which sold
well at the Garage Sale.
Mrs. Bob Howard
presented a little gift to
Father Dentinger on
behalf of the league.
Father's birthday is this
week.
Father thanked
everyone and also for
their good works and
efforts which makes the
league a success and
helping to bring us closer
to God and His Church.
The meeting was ad-
journed by Mrs. Bill
Berry, seconded by Mrs'.
Jack Tigert and closed
with prayer.
Lunch was served by
the convenors for this
meeting.
