Garb and Gear is the first team to earn a berth in the league semi-finals and is awaiting the results of three other series. First-time starter Virginny's Girl won the first with Randy Henry driving in 2:13.4. The three-year-old daughter of Keith Abbe -Margaret Forbes C is owned by Ron Kerr of Godervi,c,h. Kerr's other winner came in the eighth race when Ross Battin drove Claybrook Romeo to victory. Owned by Kerr and Harold Lamb of Goderich, Claybrook Romeo lowered his lifetime mark to 2:08.3, Keystone Shawnee collected his second ,win in six starts this year with owner John Muir on the. bike. Keystone Shawnee combined with Virginny's Girl for a daily double of $149.30. The second race exactor of Keystone Shawnee-Leahaven Jewell (5-2) paid $111.60. Only $4 was wagered on Leahaven Jewell to place. Mike's Jimmy "Lynn scored win number five of the season with Gerry, Roebuck on the bike.
