He was not discovered for almost two agonizing hours, but upon his discovery by the gunman, was ordered to leave the building immediately. Andre Tolchard was in the Post Office on the first floor when the gunman entered the building.' He said the accused immediately went upstairs and shortly thereafter two shots were heard. "Nobody realized they were shots at the time but the police arrive right awa.y and we knew something was happening," he said. "The police stopped me from leaving the building but they left and so did I." Tolchard said he could hear screaming and shouting coming from the second floor and watched as the employees slid down the cur- tains to safety. None of the employees were injured, jut many were emotionally upset by the incident. All the employees remained on the first floor for three or four hours before being sent home.
