many activities going on.
The Opening of
Education Week for the
entire Huron -Perth
County R.C.S.S. Board
was held at St. Mary's
School on Sunday with
guest speaker, Father T.
McGuire, Principal of St.
Jerome's High School in
Kitchener.

In the .past week we
have had a Science Fair
and a talent show. Both
were very successful.
The school has been'
preparing for a Spring
Festival, by learning
songs, dances and plays.
The Festival will be held
today, Thursday, April 26
at 8 p.m. „.Everyone is
invited.
Mrs. Marshall will be
returning to the Grade 1
and 2 class on May 1 and
Mrs. Farwell, who is her
replacement, will be
leaving us. .
Miss Clark, Principal,
will visit Dufferin-Peel
Separate School Board all
day Friday. She will be
cQnsulting with that
Board's Social and
Environmental Studies
Co-ordinator on behalf of
our Board's Curriculum
Committee.
Grade 2 is preparing
for First Holy Com-
munion, while the Grade
8s are preparing for
Confirmation which will
be held in St. Peter's
Church on Sunday, May
27.

Air travel is fun topic
Glen Machan, Mark
Machan's father, visited
Mrs. Brown's Grade 2
class on April 25.
Mr. Machan teaches at
GDCI and is also a pilot.
He owns his own plane
and hangar at the
Goderich airport.
His visit came at an
opportune' time since the
class is studying tran-
sportation. His topic was
A Safe Flight'.
He' discussed
everything from deciding
where to go to mapping
your course to checking
the plane to 'TAKE OFF'.
He -also brought an aerial
map, pictures, a com-
puter and a watch to time
with for the class to see.
The class enjoyed his
visit very much.
Mrs. Brown's class
(Grade 2) visited the
Goderich Airport on
Thursday,April 26.
They first went to thy'
hangar where all of the
planes are kept and Mrs.
S. ' Fink showed them
around.
Then they went to the
Weather Station where
Graham Campbell
acquainted them with the
station. .
At last, they went to the
Paint Shop where their
guide was Johi Edwards.
The class left the school
at 9:30 a.m. Five mothers
helped to supervise. They
returned at 11:30 a.m.
and it was very rainy.
The class saw the Lear
Jet and King Air in the
,hangar: The children got
to sit in the plane.
EDUCATION WEEK .
Last .week at Robert-
son, Education .Week was
held. The children did
many projects and wall .
murals that were hung
GODERICH
around the school.
Brochures and books on
the school were also set
up. Parents were allowed
to walk through the
school and see different
classes in session.
They were also invited
to .come back at 'night.
Mr. Scott's class supplied
coffee and cookies for the
parents to sell at a low
price.
The students and
teachers are
congratulated on a fine
week, which everyone
enjoyed.

$L25 an hour (up to a maximum of $50.00 a week) towards
the wages of each eligible youth you hire for those jobs.

Eligible Employees

Program Duration:
The program is in effect for 25 weeks
from April 30 through October 21,
1979. An employer is not required to
h i rc a youth for the full 25•weck period
Ternis of Employment:
To he cligihlc for funding, a position
created must he in addition to regular
and seasonal employment normally
provided during the program period. It
must provide a minimum of 25 hours
of supervisca cmploymcnt per wcck
for at least six weeks.
Grants:
Employers may qualify for grants for
up to 150 manwccks of cmploymcnt at
each cligihlc business location. For
example, if you wished to make use of
the maximum grant available you
could hire 10 young peorle for 15
weeks each, or 6 for 25 weeks each, or
15 for 10 weeks each. Appr°ovcd
employers will receive a grant of $1.25
an hour up to a maximum of $50 a
wcck (40 hours) for each young
person hired under the program.
