The Community Bet-
terment Committee, a
committee within the
Goderich Lions Club, has
certainly done its part to
keep Goderich beautiful.
The committee recently
provided $1,733 to pur-
chase ten large waste
containers for the
Square. You can do your
part now but using these
waste containers instead
of littering the streets. Be
proud of the fact that
Goderich is the prettiest
townin--C-anada- and help
it to live up to that claim.

The Goderich Lions
Club is also doing its part
for the town's senior
citizens. The Club
operates. a mini bus on
Monday and Thursday
mornings from Sep-
tember to the end of June.
Each morningthis bus
takes about 25 seniors
shopping, to the library,
to doctors and to dentists.

Well, Champion Roads
Machinery Ltd. certainly
has been making
headlines recently. Last
week we reprinted an
article on Champion from
a Western Ontario
Business Publication.
This week an article on
Champion appeared in a
supplement to The
Financial -Post.
The article states that
the Champion -style
positivism has propelled
the company from a
nationally -based sales
network in the early 1960s
to one which today sells
its motor graders to some
70 countries around the
world and across Canada.
It goes on to say that
the capability, attitude
and pride of Champion
employees allows the
company to boast a daily
production rate of 7.5
, graders.
In the article, Cham-
pion's president, Bruce
Sully, says Champion is
today the "only true
Canadian manufacturer
of motor graders and we
are considered a pioneer
in the grader business
even .by our com-
petitors."
"For example," he
points out,' `in 1936, the
company built th,„tio first
hydraulically -operated
unit and today all of our
competitors have
adopted the same
system."
