names. Do I declare the income on my tax return or
does my wife declare it on her tax return, or should we

The March meeting of
the Knox United Church
Women was held in the
Sunday school room of
the church last Tuesday
afternoon.
Mrs. Allan ' Webster
opened the meeting with
a poem called Giving,
followed by the hymn,
Beneath the Cross of
Jesus, with Mrs. Norman
Wightman as pianist.
The scripture lesson,
Hebrews 9:24-28, was
read and meditation, The.
Message of Easter, was
given by Mrs. Dorothy
Grange.
The offering was
received by Mrs. Gerald
-McDowell and dedicated.
Mrs. Gerald McDowell
introduced the guest
speaker of the afternoon,
Mrs. Kathy Pryde of
Huron County's Family
and Children's Services.
She spoke of the
preventive child abuse
program underway in the
county and stated that
there were 47 cases of
child abuse in the county
past year. Being a parent
is a big job, she stated
and then she outlined
verbal abuse, emotional
abuse and sexual abuse.
She stressed that
everyone can help in the
program to assist abused
children and their
parents. She also showed
interesting slides and
held a question period.
Mrs. Ernest Durnin
thanked Mrs. Pryde and
presented her with a gift.
This part of the
meeting was closed with
the hymn, Lord This Day
Thy Children Meet, and
prayer.
The president, Mrs.
Donald Haines, took
charge of the business
and opened with a poem,
If Easter Be Not True and
a prayer.
The minutes were
approved as read by the
secretary, Mrs. Tom
Jardin. .

at Blyth U.C.W. on April 8
