Packing tsps
keep clothes fresher
on honeymoon trip
After the excitement of
your wedding day, you'll
be off for your honeymoon.
Whether it's a big trip or
a small one, you'll save
a lot of bother if you plan
your packing carefully.
Here are some hints:
• Pack shoes, hair dry-
ers, clocks, and other %
heavy things. at the hinge
side of your suitcase —
they'll be on the bottom
when you carry it, so they
won't crush your clothes.
• Pack firmly. Loosely -
packed clothes will shift
around in transit and
wrinkle more easily.
• Pack in sections and
not in layers — sportswear
together, evening wear
gether, lingerie together.
It's easier to ,get at things
that way, and easier to
re -pack firmly.
• Distribute weight
evenly on both sides of
your suitcase (pack one
heavy article at either end
of the hinge) , and it will
be easier to carry.
• Fasten all buttons
and zippers, then fold ev-
erything in thirds length-
wise - - a lengthwise fold
will come out naturally as
you wear the garment.
• Pack all liquids
(shampoo, cosmetics) and
'aerosols in a separate car-
ry -on
case.
• Take clothes that
don't wrinkle easily.
• Because you'll be try-
ing to save as much space
\as possible, take clothes
and accessories that you
can mix and match.
Best -Groomed Groom . Sports A Wedding Gift from the Bride
When .the bride-to-be
counts her blessings,
chances are the groom will
be Number 1, far and away.
What better way to show her
love than to surprise him "
with a wedding gift. Of
course, she doesn't have to,
• but most likely, she'll want
to. After all, the groom
might need a little reassur-
ance that in spite of the
many complex and puziling
wedding preparations, he is
still and will remain his
bride's prime concern.
The Jewelry Industry
Council suggests that the

THE BRIDE who's watching out for her groom's best interests will certainly
want to surprise him with a wedding gift he'll'cherish, There's no better gift
than a handsome, gold watch to keep track of all the happy times they'll
spend together, says the Jewelry Industry Council. Also high on the list are
diamond -sparked personal accessories and gold chains and bracelets. After
all, he's her Number 1 treasure. t
With This Ring...
Time was when a wed-
ding ring could be worn on
any finger. We owe the cus-
tom of placing rings on the
fourth finger, left hand, to
the Egyptians, who beloved
that a vein led from there to
the heart.

wedding day countdown and

wedding, there's plenty to
keep, track of, especially the
happy moments that the
newlywed couple spends to-
gether.
Today, there are so many
watch styles to choose from
that the bride will be able to
find one that's just right for
the groom. She'll find a wide
variety of styles, from the
classic, gold dress watch
with a leather strap to rug-
ged sport watches, all at her
favorite jeweler's.
If the groom is already
adequately equipped with
watches, the bride may wish
to fete him with diamonds
— they aren't just for wom-
en anymore. A diamond
ring would mean just as
much to the groom as it does
to the bride. Diamond -
sparked tie tacs and money
clips are favorites, as are
ultra -dress watches with rich
diamond paves.
Gifts in gold - cuff links,
link bracelets, pendants, or
collar pins show that the
groom is precious to the
bride, while silver acces-
sories indicate that she
thinks he has a sterling
character,
Idents and chains befit the
soon -to -be -married man.
And rings are a not -to -be -
forgotten' favorite. Birth-
stone or signet rings add ele-
gance to everyday dressing.
Pocket jewelry scores high
in practicality and luxury. A
gold money clip or pen knife
or an initialed belt buckle in
gold or silver will long be
shining reminders of a very
happy day. t
Fraends share
in joy of music
When talented friends
of family of the bride and
groom perform the music
at the wedding, it adds a
personal touch that's irre-
placeable.
If you're asking friends
to sing or play at your
wedding, though, keep in
mind the friend's own en-
joyment of the big event.
Try to have the musical
program shared among
several musicians, so that
no one, person bears too
much of the "burden" of
performing!
Wedding Bouquets
During the Renaissance,
the bride also carried
sheaves of grain along with "
flowers. 'By the eighteenth
century, however, the tradi-
tion remained for the bride
to carry only flowers,
