Art doesn't hurt you
BY JOANNE
BUCHANAN
Students at "1.Victoria
Public School got some
special art lessons
throughout last week and
the week before when
• Goderich Township artist
Douglas 'Darnbrough
visited the school.
Aided . by an Arts
Council grant and the
'Board of Education,
Darnbrough was• able to
take a leavye of absence
from has regular factory
job and set up a small
studio in the school where
she gave 15 minute lessons
In silk screening, wood
cuts and the basic break
down of colors to each
class every day for two
weeks.
Those students who
were really enthused
about art, were en-
couraged to spend some
extra time after school
with Darnbrough to do
freelance work for a show
which will be put an for
the general public.
Darnbrough graduated
with his honors BA
degree in Fine Arts from
Guelph Univeristy. The
course he taught at
Victoria was a crash one
but he hopes it gave the
students a better un-
derstanding and ap-
preciation of art. He said
both he and the staff at
Victoria. were pleased ' "Art has never hurt
anyone," he concluded.
with the results.

Real ceramic tile. It makes so much sense in so
many rooms because it's not only one of the
most beautiful materials on earth - It's also
one of the most practical.
Whether it's used on floors, on walls or on
counter tops ceramic tile sparkles with lust
soap and water. Without the scrubbing, buf-
fing, waxing, polishing or vacuuming other
materials demand.
And under normal conditions It also resists
scratching, denting, warping, even burning.
And probably will never need replacing.
