Club holds Canuck Carnival

Snowmobile Club
members, arrived "en
mass" at the Bluewater

represented this area in
the 1978 Rose Bowl
Parade in _Pasadena,
California. It was indeed
a privilege to talk to the
pipers and drummers
and to see really what
bagpipes look like and
also to see and learn
about the tartan, plaid

the wig, wig waggle o' the

Six wrestlers place
in Sarnia tourney

The GDCI wrestling
team placed six
wrestlers in. the top six
places in their weight
categories in the Sarnia
St. Clair tournament last
Saturday.
Twelve GDCI wrestlers
competed in the tour-
nament which had
participants from a total
of 15 schools.
The GDCI wrestlers
gaining points for their
team were Mark Carman
who was sixth at 44 kilos,

series winner

in the scheduling of
OMHA juvenile playoffs,
Signal -Star coach Doug
Cruickshank expects his
team to begin play next
week.
Now the Stars are
awaiting the winner of
the Strathroy-
Amherstburg series
which Strathroy
currently leads two
games to none. The third
game of the best -of -five -
series will be played in
•Aniherstburg, Friday.
That series was to have
been completed by
February 11 and the Stars
have been idle waiting for

Sailor loss dims chances of pennant

The Goderich Sailors
hurt their chances of
winning a division title as
they were blasted 11-5 by
Mount Forest, Sunday. -
A win would have
boosted the Sailors into
sole possession of top spot
in their division but as it
stands they remain tied
with Mildmay. Both
teams have 22 points.
The advantage is with
Mildmay however, as
they have three games
remaining in their
schedule compared to
two for the Sailors.
The Rams held a 3-2
lead after the first period
of play but broke the
game open in the second
period outscoring
Goderich 6-1 to hold a
comfortable.- 9-3 edge
heading, into the final
period. Each team scored
two goals in the final
period.
Dan Duncan and Dan
Colquhoun scored first
period goals for the
Sailors while Graham
Hamilton counted the

At the Goderich arena
last Sunday morning,
both the senior and junior
girls Ringette teams
hosted a visiting team
from Gorrie.
The junior girls were
defeated by Gorrie 9 - 2.
Scorers for Goderich
were Tania Gibbons, at
2:20 in the first period
assisted by Debbie
Mitchelmore. Cheryl
Smith tallied at 1600 in
the second, assisted by
Tania Gibbons. Gorrie's
high scorer was Shelley
Gibson who had four
goals followed closely by
Kim Stacia with three
and Sharon Burns and
Wendy Sonburn, one each
to end the game.
During the second
exhibition game against
Gorrie on Sunday mor-
ning at the arena, the
Goderich senior girls
were defeated by the.
visiting Gorrie team to a
tune of 8 - 5. The score
