Stratford Big Macs dump Suns 7-2.
The Suns met their
strongest opposition to
date when they faced the
Stratford "Big - Macs"
Sunday. The Stratford
major . atoms, ^ w.ho
usually play against
triple A competition, had
control of the game all
the way.
In ,the first period the
"\Big Macs" came on
very strong and the Suns
seemed to be dazzled by
the size and 'skating
ability of their opponents..
Stratford scared four
goals in the period on a
fast -skating team effort.
The second period saw _.
the Suns rally to a 4-2
score on goals by Davey
Jewell and Shawn Lar-
der. The Goderich
defense tightened up in.
the second period as Jeff
Scott and Jay Williamson
both made excellent
saves to limit the
Stratford attack to one
goal. The best defensive
line in the period was the
Talbot, Schutz, Larder
combination. Darren
Doak ,played the
strongest game as a
'•defenseman.
Stratford proved their
strength with continued
pressure in the third
period. They not only
kept the Suns boxed in
their own end of the rink
but managed to score two
unanswered goals to
finish the game with 7-2
score.
The Suns resume their
s e e
regular schedule next
Sunday at Tive o'clock
when they host the
Walk -ea -Ph -Atoms. As the
regular schedule draws
to a close the Suns still
have their sights on the
league championship so
the fans can look forward
to an all=ou.t effort!
