This year the Goderich.
Industrial League fastball
tournament will feature 32
teams from the area com-
peting in two divisions.
The tournament has 16
teams competing in the A
division, for towns -over 10,000
population and 16 teams in
the B loop.
Play will begin Friday
September 1 at 7:30 p.m. and
Wingham will battle
Bryanston in the opening
game of the tournament. In
the only other game
scheduled for Friday,
Goderich Canada Company
will play Huron Park at 9
p.m.
Play then resumes
Saturday morning at 8 a.m.
on • the two diamonds in
Agriculture Park and A
division play begins that.

In A action Petrolia will
battle Orangeville on
diamond two while on
diamond one, South Zorra
will play Lieury.
Play will continue all day •
Saturday with the final
games being played on
Diamond 1 at 8 p.m. and 9:30.
The four Goderich teams -
participating. in_ this year's
tournament are French Dry
Cleaners, Canada Company,
Fisher Custom Builders and
McGee Pontiacs.
Petrolia has won the A
Division the past two years
and. they have returned in an
attempt to win an .un-
precedented three tour-
naments. Last year they won
the A division championship
and then went on to win the
grand championship with a 3-
1 victory over Wingham in the
final.
Wingham has also returned
to defend their B division
title. They play Bryanston in
the opening round and if they
advance will have tough
competition from Huron Park
or Canada Company.
The tournament will offer
four exciting days of ball and
admission to the- park is only.
$1. During the tournament
tickets will also go on sale on'
a chance at two„free tickets to •
the. 'Grey Cup. The draw will
be made on Monday.
