The Train was purchased by several provincial governments from the American Freedom Train Foun- dation last summer. As well as agreeing to purchase the 15 cars as the basis for The Discovery Train, the provinces have provided suggestions on design, itinerary and community involvement. Provincial governments will play a major role in hosting the train and organizing community involvement in each of the 19 com- munities to be visited in 1978. Over the past several months, work has been proceeding with the upgrading and repainting of the original cars, and with interior designs and the fabrication of imaginative exhibits.
