Anglican Church in Goderich for the wedding
ceremony uniting Marilyn L. Ashton and Robert W.
Schultz in marriage on Saturday evening, July I.
The Reverend Robert Crocker officiated at the
ceremony and music was provided by organist J.B.
Herman.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. oy
Ashton of Goderich and the groom is the son of and
Mrs. Elmer Schultz of RR 2 Goderich.
The bride wore an ecru gown of nylon sheer em-
bossed material featuring tiny peach coloured
flowers, long puffed sleeves and a square neckline.
The bodice of the gown was trimmed with peach
coloured lace. Her two tier white full veil was caught
up in a bow of matching material iced with Aurora
Borealis.
She carried a cascade of peach roses and buds,
white shasta daisies, baby's breath and ivy.
Maid of honour was Valerie Park of Goderich. She
wore a peach coloured gown of polyester and crepe
featuring a deep cowl neckline and a wide brimmed
white hat. Shecarried a nosegay of white daisies and
tiny carnations tinted the colour of each attendant's
gown.
Vicki Park of Goderich and Wanda and Pat Park of
Dungannon all nieces of the bride, were bridesmaids.
They were gowned the same as the maid of honour in
colours of beige, pink and turquoise. They wore
identical hats and carried identical nosegays.
Groomsman Was CarsofGoderich. Ushers
were Gary Schultz, Randy Schultz and Bud Schultz, all
brothers of the groom.
Following the wedding ceremony, a dinner and
reception were held at the White Carnation in
Holmesville.

pieces, their most
beautiful treasures.
The ladies on , the"
committee - are over-
whelmed by the interest
shown and believe this
will be the first of the big
antique shows for this
district.
Actually, they will be
doing a great service for
and
their own needs, also
helping the hard working
dealers by supplying such
fine accommodations,
with great benefits for
their own project, helping
the. mentally retarded
enjoy a few hours out of
doors.
Mark your calendar
and let your friends know
about this fine show, as it
will be a treat to be able
to buy top quality mer-
chandise without feeling
you have been "Took -in
or Tooken!"
Another thing about the
patients at the Centre, so
many of them come from
far away places and have
no one to visit them, bring
them little comforts or
the pleasure of just
someone to cheer them
once in a while. Their
needs are not great but
they do need friends.
Last week the article
about trail bikes and
bicycles made me stop
and read it again. I have
now come to the con-
clusion, after talking with
people who haveh ad
i
complaints, ade
complaints or ha e just
been plain mad fed up
with kids wh are not
taught thp respon-
sibilities of ning a bike,
that there s nowhere that
any of t m can now ride,.
I believe this is mainly
the fault of parents who
do not teach their
children, from the time
they begin to walk that
they- --must respect- the'
rights of others, they
cannot run wild over
others' properties or
destroy their possessions.
Money used to talk.
Then it whispered. Now
it just sneaks off.

Remember the good old
days,. when p tab lem-s- had -- -
solutions?
Children are allowed to
pick up anything they
want without thought of
ownership or paying for
same. Everything is
FREE. No one teaches
them to consider or think
about what they do or
where they dolt.
The children just don't
understand, and it is a
darned shame!
Now they are finding
they are being turned out
of places where they
could have fun because a
few of them are smart
alecs that insisted they
could ride, with lots of
noise, the streets near the
field or rip around and
through the farmer's
grain leaving 'patterns or
designs which quickly
told him they had no
respect for him or his
property.
So they are being shut
out everywhere they go.
The insurance risk has
become a nightmare,

doesn't make sense!
And so they are killing
their own chances of
having fun on their bikes
that cost them or their
parents a pretty penny.

Terrific
I feel that the kids are
the ones who are going to
have to police their
plaYgrounds, or
whatever, since it is
usually a few rotten kids
.who spoil it for the rest.
Parents, talk to your
young ones about this
problem. Help them
maintain some form of
discipline about their
lives. TEACH they to
respect for others and
they will grow up to have
respect for themselves.
Very important to their
future.
To change the subject -
I noticed a restaurant ad
which laid claims to
(among other things)
great "home made"
soups. In a .nice eating
place recently I changed
my mind from. salad
because of the bean soup
specialty.
What did I get? Watery,
mixed vegetable soup
with a few white beans
added. What a disap-
pointment.
I had conjured up a
thick '.nice-srnelly bean
soup with BEANS that
.also made the "THICK"
part of the soup. I felt like
sending it back, but you
always get such a look
from the waitress that
you don't dare be so
crude.
Now I just don't risk
such a thing again, and I
tell others where they
serve watery no -bean
soup.
Don't • forget the
"Penny Carnival" on
Friday for the kids at the
pool.

the assessment building
to discuss site and
building design for re-
zoning of proposed West
St. area, Sr. Citizens'

site. Seniors who have
experienced some of
these buildings should try
_ -
to attend so that old
mistakes are not in-
corporated into this new
building.
Seniors' buildings
should be considered for
the people who will use
them, most of the
designers and builders
are young vigorous peo le
who have no idea of what
would be 'nicer' for an
oldster.
One gripe I always.
have is the matter of
mirrors. It , is always a
tall guy who puts in the
mirrors. Shorties like me
can't even see the top of
their heads,let alone
their races. I contend a
tall person can always
stoop or lean to use a
short mirror, we need to
carry %tep-stools
wherever we go! DARN
IT!
Check your coming
events, Bulletin Board,
the new ones are not in at
time of writing. Love
Martha.
