visits Colborne farm

that Mr. and Mrs. Gerald

had a splendid trip and
located a family living in
Cornwall, England who
gave them a wonderful
time.
This year one of this
family in England
decided to come to
Canada and visit the
Dustow relatives here.
James Dustow , a
teenager, of Cornwall,
England has been visiting
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald
Dustow for the past three
weeks and meeting
hi—
Ontario cousins,, visiting
in the Haliburton area,
sightseeing in the
Niagara district and
enjoying the hospitality
shown him.
James has found our
climate very hot and
really preferred the
overcast weather, which
apparently is more• like
England weather, he has
been quite taken with"
Ontario, it has been an
interesting holiday and
ate he will always
remember, and really
enjoyed meeting his
relatives.

At the July 4 meeting of - Town of Goderich that a purchase of a new

Council, the road
superintendent reported
that the gravel contract
had been completed and
also the calcium ap-
plication. In regard to the
reconstruction projects,
he stated that the Eric
Moore side road should
be started in July,/, the
Dustow culverts had a
decision pending and the
Brindley culvert was to
be installed.'

action as did a letter from
the Bogie's Beach
Association about tree
planting on the roadside.

by-law for M.T.C. ap-

HAWKINS DRAIN
In regard to the
Hawkins Municipaj,
Drain, Mr. Kenneth
Brindley asked council if
the above mentioned
Drainage Works would be
responsible for erosion
damage it caused to the
Hill Lake Creek which
flowed through his
property and he was
satisfied after reading a
copy of the meeting
report.
Mr. Donald Scott told
council he had not
received his copy of the
report. Using • a spare
copy, council explained
the report to him
resulting in his
satisfaction. There were
no appeals regarding this
drain. By -Law 978, being
the Hawkins Drainage
Works by -law -was given
first, second, third and
2 final reading and passed.
Three tenders were
received for the Hawkins
Drqin. The tender of Scott
Bros. Ltd. of Ripley, for
$2,990 was accepted by
Council.
By -Law 878 being a Tile
Drainage Rating by-law
for the sum of $6,300 loan
against Pt. Lt. 8, Con.
