Bob Riehl smacked a
triple, double and single
and scored two runs to
lead Gord's Sports to a 6-0
win over Little Bowl in
Industrial League action
Sunday.
Riehl smacked oa
leadoff triple in the third
inning, a run -scoring
single in the fourth and
added a double in the
sixth as Gord's racked up
their fifth win of the
season.
Gord's scored four runs
in the third inning and
added two more in the
fourth to complete the
scoring. Riehl led off the
third with a triple and
scored on Des Courtney's
single. Courtney, Phil
Petrie and Brian Rumig
scored the other Gord's
runs in the third.
Jim Ginn started the
Gord's fourth inning rally
by reaching base on an
error and scoring on
Riehl's single. Courtney
then smacked a double to
score Riehl.
Des Courtney, Rick
McLean and Warren
Watt added to Gord's 11 -
hit attack with two hits
apiece. Jim Ginn and Phil
Petrie had the other hits.
Losing pitcher Terry
Powell failed to spark the
Little Bowl offense
despite his three hits in
three times at bat.

added two singles.
Courtney picked up the
win allowing eight hits
while striking out eight.
He walked three batters.

Crawford shared the

The bat of Ken Van-
derburg proved to be the
only difference in a
pitching duel between
Rick Sowerby of McGee
Pontiacs and Brian
McKenzie of Lakeport
Steel, Sunday.
Vanderburg smacked a
two -run homer in , the
second inning off
McKenzie and the blast
carried the Pontiacs to a
2-0 victory over Lakeport.
The hit was one of five
McKenzie relinquished in
the seven innings_ he
pitched. Ron Sowerby led
off the second inning with
a double and scored on
Vanderburg's homer.
Rick Sowerby picked
up the win for McGees
and stopped Lakeport on
just two hits, a first and
fourth inning single by
McKenzie. He struck out
seven batters in recor-
ding the shutout and
walked one.
McGee struck for three
of their hits in the run
producing second inning
and only managed two
singles over the
remaining six innings.
Ron Sowerby led the
Pontiacs with two hits, a
single and a double, and
scored ., one run. Van-
derburg, Ken Meriam
and Doug Spitzig had the
other McGee hits.
McKenzie was the only
batter to get to Sowerby
for a hit as he nailed two
singles in three at bat .

Elevators offence against

apiece. Kolkman also
scored four runs.
The Elevators scored
seven runs in the first two
innings and put the game
out of reach with a 14 run
rally in the fourth inning.
Joe's Girls scored single
runs in the first and fifth
innings.
The Elevators showed
little mercy against the;
Clinton Sluggers as they
ripped the Sluggers 22-2
ti°or their second win of the
week. Betty MacPhee,
Sue Kolkman and Bev
Wright led the Elevators
scoring four runs apiece.

the golfing season is now
into its third month. As
'we enter into the month of
July, we are expecting to
see more of our. junior
members who are now
enjoying their summer
vacation. Juniors will be
happy to know that plans
are already in progress
for tate Junior
Invitational on July 26.
Men's Night was held
on June 20. Low gross for
the evening was Bob
