I hope your week has gone well and will continue to be thus (as Shakespeare would say). Since everyone knows that the world revolves around my column, I will waste no more time in tiresome Fiddle-faddel and get right to all the juicy items I've gleaned over the past week. At G.D.C.I : The Formal was pretty good this year, at least that's what I hear from those who went. 1 was indisposed on Friday and Un(?) fortunately I could not attend. Anyway these are the things•I've hear about it. Una Costello was elected school queen and congratulations go to her from everybody. Na lovlier lady could have won although we must not forget to mention the other contestants, all of whom looked lovely . and deserve recognition. Unfortunately Wendy Botz was unable to attend because of sickness. We wish her a speedy recovery. The decorations along the theme of "Octopus Garden", were wonderful. The centerpiece of an octopus was set off with a hanging seahorse, a clam shell containing the queen's throne, and many colorful murals. I'm sure all those who attended enjoyed themselves. Thanks go to the formal committee, the decorating people and all who helped to make this somewhat archaic tradition a success. Now I'm finished dissecting the formal, I'll turn to other stuff. Other stuff: What is going down here?! ? Maybe I'm spoiled 'cause I just moved to Goderich two years ago, but snow on May 1 is ridiculous! This cockamamy climate is going to kill me! I walked out on my front porch yesterday and slipped down on. the concrete! bang.! My..um:. neck still hurts. Maybe I'll move to Florida, or' something. Awright, hold down the cheering, it was just a suggestion! • I guess that's all I've got to say for this week. Catch ya next Thursday. Hope ya have a good week. 0 [/, 0 0 122 THE SQUARE ........ ,,..:. - ,..ter GODERICH SIGNAL -STAR, THURSDAY, MAY 4, 1978—PAGE 7 ND OPENING WELCOME You'll enjoy dining in the pleasant, quiet atmosphere of the new, completely renovated Club Grill.
