Club held its annual Fall Test
Day on Sunday, October 30, at
the stables of Gordon and
Diane Johns, RR 2, Auburn.
The following candidates
successfully passed their
tests:
C1 Test: Kathy Grant,
Kincardine; Terry Taylor,.
Lucknow; Gail Thompson,
Teeswater; Sandra Thom-
pson, Teeswater.
C Test: Christy Messenger,
Ripley.
D2 Test: Tammy Hollitz,
Lucknow; James Watson,
D - Test: Tina Nesbitt,
Kincardine; Heather Sim-
mons, Kincardine.
The candidates were tested
by Miss Margaret Brown,
Elora, who is a'rn ember of the
Esquesing Pony Club, and
3 who this year graduated from
Potomac School of
Equitation, Maryland, with
her Horsem asters degree and°
hyr Instructors certificate.
Many relatives and friends
of the club members were in
attendance and all enjoyed
the mild, sunny, Indian
summer weather. A lunch
was served by the members'
mothers.

September by the Huron -
Bruce Pony Club and the

Cheques and money for cancer research poured in this,
weekend at the Western Ontario Provincial Assembly of
Foresters' 18th annual meeting held in Goderich and hosted
by the Huron District of Foresters. Here, fraternal director,
Norm Hill collectp some of the cheques at Saturday night's
banquet at Saltford Valley Hall. A total of $7,600 was
received. This is the most money ever raised by any
assembly in the Foresters' 98 year national history. (staff

The Hufon- Division Council of the Canadian Order of
Foresters from Courts in Benmiller, Kinburn, Atwood and
Wallace played host this weekend in Goderich to about 250
Foresters from 39 courts in the Western Ontario Provincial
Assembly at its 18th annual meeting. Executive members

Agriculture Minister
Eugene Whelan said last
week that Canada has im-
posed a temporary ban on the
import of all livestock and
semen from Australia. The
ban is not expected to create
great inconvenience, because
such imports are rare.
The ban is caused by an
outbreak of a hitherto
unknown strain of
bluetongue, a disease that
causes deformity and death
in sheep, cattle and goats.
The new strain was identified
in Australia's Northern
Territory, but the origin 9f
the new virus is yet to be
