Skicade is a program of the Ontario Ski Council that is introducing alpine and cross- country skiing to students across the province. Louis Stadelmann came out on top of a long tough game to raise his percentage 64 points and maintain a hold on fourth spot. Moving back up to the top level via his sixth win is Sam Hassan. Sam also regained the lead in the mot improved player category with an increase of .187. In Level 2, red hot Dennis Little won two games to leap into the lead. Dennis was the club's runner-up for the top Level championship last year and is now making his bid to move hack up into Level 1. Look out Level 1 players! Bob Vanastra Spokesman for the Vanastra Centre has an- nounced plans for a Swim-a- thon to be held Saturday, November 26th, 1977. Funds raised will be used to purchase additional pool equipment, additional gymnastics equipment, equipment for the popular kinder gym swim program and audio equipment for exercise classes. Participants in the November 26th swim-a-thon will compete for cash prizes of $10 in- the following categories: - the youngest swimmer entered; •the most money received; and for the most lengths in age groups up to 9 years, 10-14 years, 15-30 years, 31-49 years and 50 years and up. For readers not familiar with Vanastra Centre, many types of programs including swim lessons, aquafit, yoga, gymnastics, ballet, etc. are available to everyone. • Fitness is stressed in many programs for men and women. A popular program is the Health Spa which includes a work out in the fitness room, a relaxing sauna and warm swim. Also included at the Vanastra Centre is a snack bar, an excellent Day tare Centre, bingo and dances in the auditorium. Since swimming is one sport that can be enjoyed by young and old alike, Vanastra Centre is extending a special invitation to Senior Citizens to come and enjoy our Recreation Swims for half price off regular adult ad- mission. There is Open Recreational Swimming for everyone on Monday and Tuesday 8:30 -10 p.m.; Wednesday, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.; Thursday 6:30 - 7 p.m. and 8:30 - 10 p.m.; Friday 7 - 8 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday 3 - 4:30 p.m. On Sundays between 2 and 3 p.m. there is family swim- ming only and during the week adults only Itt Monday to Friday P.m. and also Si evening 9:30 -10p4, • Colts open with 5-1 will The • newly revamped Clinton Colts opened the season last Friday night with a 5-1 win over Mitchell, but lost their home opener in Clinton Sunday night when they bowed to Monkton 11-3. The Colts now playing in the WOAA, with almost no returning players from last year, -got goals from Bill Lee, Dave Archibald, Harvey Carter, Don Shropshall and Mark Fisher in their Mitchell debut and Archibald's second period goal proved to be the winner. On Sunday night, the Colts met a determined Monkton team and skating with them until the end of the second period, down only one goal 4- 3.
