Signal -
The Goderich Signal -Star
Juveniles unleashed their
potent offence winning two
league games last week.
The Stars used two third'
period outbursts to edge
Lambeth 8 - 6 in a game
played at Lambeth last
Wednesday and then drilled
St. Marys 8 - 4 in a league
game played at Huron Park
Sunday.
The stars staged an in-
credible third period five -goal
rally to overcome a three -
goal deficit to defeat Lam-
beth 8 - 6. The teams were tied
at two after one period of play
but Lambeth jumped out to a
5 - 3 lead after two periods.
Lambeth increased the
margin to three goals early in
the third period before
Goderich took advantage of
several manpower ad-
vantages that resulted in the
five -goal rally.

game.
The Vikings will lose only
two players, Brenda Pollock,
and Karen Pond for next
year. Coach Doidge paid
tribute to Karen Pond for the
fine job this season of calling
and setting up the offensive
plays for the Vikings, saying
that Karen deserved the
respect that her team-mates
showed her.
Brenda PoHock was played
in her first se
ason with the
senior Vikings and coach
Doidge felt her .speed and
determination often spurred
the Vikings on.
With the rest of the team
returning, things look good
for another run at that elusive
Huron -Perth championship
next season.
An emotional loss. Three members of the GDCI girls basketball team were unable toh
back the tears after their inspired rally to overcome a ten point deficit fell three poi
short in the senior girls basketball final. Emotions reached a fevered pitch as the GD
team came within a basket of tying the series when time ran out. (staff photo))
