!New I.O.D.E. members affirmed
The November meeting of
Maple Leaf Chapter I.O.D.E.
was held at the home of Mrs.
H.J. Murphy. The Regent,
Mrs. G.L. Royal presided and
the table flags were on
display.
Following reports from the
secretary and treasurer
various other convenors gave
their monthly reports.
Mrs. P. Rivers stated that
the Christmas Party will be
held Wednesday, December 7
at 6:30 p.m. at St. Peter's'
Parish Hall and Mrs. Miller
will cater. Tickets are
available from Mrs. Rivers,
Mrs. P. Strickland and Mrs.
W. Stanbury.
Mrs. J. McIntyre read the
correspondence from
Provincial Chapter and it was
noted that a Bonspiel is to be
held in London on February
.21, 1978; that Founders Day is
February 13 and that
I.O.D.E. week is February 12
to 19.
The Chapter voted to send a
donation to the Huronview
Auxiliary to assist with their
Christmas Shopping Fair for
the residents.

Mrs. R. Breckenridge gave
the services report which
included the following in-
formation: the bale was sent
to Provincial Headquarters in
Hamilton for distribution; a
letter was received from the
Children's Nutrition Unit in
Bangladesh where layettes
and nursery bags had been
received from I.O.D.E. bales.
There is still a great need in
Bangladesh for diapers, toys
and clothing.
Mrs. J. Stringer read a
delightful .letter from the
I.O.D.E.'s adopted Korean
girl, Jang Choon Sim who is
progressing well at school.
Mrs. Royal urged members
to attend the Remembrance
Church Service on November
6 at Knox Church and the
Remembrance Day Service
at the Cenotaph on Friday,
November 11.
Mrs. W. Hassall mem-
bership secretary, brought
forward Mrs. J. Adams, Mrs.
P. King and Mrs. R.
Robertson to take their af-
firmation. Mrs. Royal
warmly welcomed these
ladies to the Chapter.
Mrs. E. Howey, Treasurer
introduced the list of
donations for Provincial and
National I.O.D.E. Funds, As
_well as accepting the regular
list this year, a donation will
be made to the Labrador
Fund to assist with their
progrgram one of which is a
day care centre.
Mrs. H. Murphy, ways and
means convener suggested
various projects for the
chapter. It was voted to
purchase an Emergency
Portable Section machine for
the Emergency Room of the
Alexandra Marine and
General Hospital and to buy
four Symphony tickets for

and
Insulate U.F. Foam
