story corrected
It has been pointed out to the Signal -Star
editorial staff that the fuel allowances paid to
persons on welfare in Huron County have indeed
increased 45 percent to cover the cost of heating,
but that monthly rakes published in the Signal -
Star last week are incorrect.
The story indicated the allowance for a one -
room' detached dwelling goes from .$84 per month
to I. per month. This is wrong. It is not a
monthly allowance but an annual allowance. All
allowances quoted in the story are for the period
of one year, not one month.
