points.
Benmiller was represented:
by two teams, Bentniller-No.
three and Benmiller No. two
with the Benmiller No. three:.
team successfully winning
the Championship and the
Benmiller No. two team
coming in a respectful third
being beaten by only twenty-
three pins.
The five members of the
winning team were: Doug
Fuller, Leone Thom, Bill
Chisholm, Rita Toby, and
Ross Hillier. I also think we
should give mention to the
other team that also gave a
tremendous effort, the team
members were Flo Robinson,
Frankie Hillier, Jack Thom,
Dorrie Chisholm, and John
Bissett. The rest of the.
bowlers would like to applaud
two, of the bowlers, Leone
Thom for nailing down Ladies
High Single and Doug Fuller
for the Men's High Triple.
After' the Tournament was
over all the bowlers Went to
the Benmiller Lodge and
were treated to a very
delicious buffet supper.
Everybody involved would
like to say a big thanks for the
people who helped in the,
preparing and serving of the
lovely meal. At this time we
would also like to say a
special "Thank you" to Harry
Little for the help he rendered
and for being such a'great
host.
Regular league play swung
into action for another season
with another full ten team
league. If the scores after the
first night's action are any
indication of the first night's
scores it should be a real
super season. Glen Lambs -
Jubilee Six grabbed seven
points from Jack Gilberts -
Stumblebums. Although the
Stumblebums put up a good
fight the cgmpetition of their
opponents seemed stronger.
Glen Lamb led the Jubilee Six
with 228, 228, 306 singles and
762 triple. Jim Fielder con-
tributed with good scoring of
202, 208 singles and Ron
Bushell a 227 and their fellow
team mates made it possible
to retain the seven point win.
Jack Gilbert, however,
scored a single of 255 and a
triple of 638 to try and even
the score with Glen. - Bill
Bogie had a 277 single and a
616 triple and again the rest of
the team-mates scored but
not strong enough to gain any
points. .. -
Doug Fuller's Simple Six
picked up seven points from
Ross Hillier's Humdingers
with Doug Fuller picking off
110, and 268 singles and a 652
triple. Hermie Fisher was
something else scoring
singles of 290, 251, 290 and
taking the high triple of the
night of a 831. Trying to gain a
few points for his Hum-
dingers Glen Webster had a
130 single but their team
effort was fruitless against
Doug and his gang.
The Rolling Pins and the
Cornish Hens split the points
between them so as not to
start a war. Bob Risings -
Rolling Pins rolled enough
pins to get two points, and the
Cornish Hens picked off the
other five points. Bob scored
a 222 single then Rose Rising
tried to catch him by scoring
a 116 single, shy a few pins.
Jon Ginn bowled a 215 single
to bring the team closer. The
Cornish Hens went all out
with Lyall Mabon picking off
singles of 238, 200, 237 and a
grand triple of 675. Grant
Curran came through with
singles of 255, 319 and a 729
triple to grab the five points.
The rest of the team tried
their hardest too.
The Swingers started off
the season with five points
with Ted Johnston scoring
singles of 215 and 221 and a
nice triple of 619. George
Robinson bowled singles of
176 and 204 and 658 triple.
Harry Swans -Six Pack were
packed enough to take two
points from the Swingers with
excellent bowling from Leone
Thom with a single of 272 and
a triple of 607. Eric Miller
came into action with singles
of 231 and 210 and a triple of
639 and fellow team-mates of
course helRed also.
Something Else, captained
by Tom Willis, grabbed all
seven points from the• Pin
Busters with John Bissett as
their captain. Tom Willis led

his team to victory with a
single of 218 and Nancy Willis
with a single of 200. The
Pinbusters tried their hardest
but weren't good enough to
take any points from Tom.
John Bissett tried with a
single of 201 and then Bob
Sharpe tried harder with a
single of 222. The fellow Pin
Busters fell down along the
way and didn't bust any pins
not at least for some well
needed points.
The league had a successful
night with most of the sixty
bowlers rolling the pins far
above their individual
averages. They will have to
keep on rolling to retain these
scores they set for them-
selves. On October 30 all the
bowlers again came through
to keep averages high. Jack
Thom of the Six Pack had a
single of 209, Eric Miller
singles of 224, 232 and a cool
triple of 633. They just walked
away with seven points from
Glen Lamb's -Jubilee Six even
though Glen had a single of
112 and Bruce Crawford a ":14
single. The Six did bowl hard
but gained nothing.
The Rolling Pins lost seven
points to the Humdingers
with Ross Hillier of the
Humdingers bowling a single
of 234 and triple of 619.
Frankie Hillier had a singleof
234 keeping up with Ross.
Glen Webster had a single of
225 and Marie Webster a
single of 204. Wayne Swan
also had a single of 203 to gain
the seven points. Bob Rising
tried to roll the pins down
with a single of 230 and a
triple of 622. Jon Ginn again
cite in with a single of 101
and team-mates rolled the
rest of the pins.
John Bissett's Pin Busters
busted some pins to take
away five points from the
Simple Six. Bob Sharpe.
bowled a single of 211 and
Eleanor Sharpe a 220. Doug
again helped „his team-mates
out with a single of 116 and Vi
Fuller a 205, to split the seven
points.
Something Else and The
Stumblebums split the points
between them. Something
Else took four points andwthe
Stumblebums three points.
Scoring mentions were Jack
Gilbert -Stumblebums with
205,=12 singles and a great
triple of 629. Bill Bogie
stumbled through with
singles of 250 and 118 and
triple of 647. Delmar Sproul a
238 single helping in the four
points. Torn Willis for
Something Else had a single
of 240, and Joyce Baer a 109,
and Jerry Wiebe a 105 for
their three Mahon howling a
119, Sandra Curt an a 183, Bob
Cornish a 254 for the Cornish
Hens. The fellow team-mates
put up a good fight also.
The _Swingers swung into
action and took four out of the
seven points. With George
Robinson having a single of
209 and the other swingers did
some swinging too and helped •
nut. greatly. After two suc-
cessful nights of bowling the
standings are as follows:
Something Else - .>0 points;
Simple Six - 9 points,
Swingers - 9, Six Pack - 9,
Cornish Hens - 8, Humdingers
- 7, Jubilee Six- 7, Pin Busters
- 5, Stumblebums - 4, Rolling
Pins - 2. A very close race for
some of the teams but
