They report plenty of rain and lots of fallen leaves but said it was a very en- joyable trip. Others on the bus from the surrounding district were Mr. and Mrs. Bert Crawford of Goderich, Mrs. Gert -rude Goldthorp of Goderich, Mr. and Mrs. Frank McMichael of RR 4, and Mr. and Mrs. M.W. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Christ Church at Port Albert had a good attendance on Sunday for its Thanksgiving service. Ser- vices are held at Christ Church every Sunday at 2 p.m. Michigan was in the area this past week. She visited Harold Tigert at Ivlaitland Manor and Mary Johnston in Port Albert. SOCIAL NEWS e Benefit Dance in Saford Valley Hall on Friday evening, for the Millian Boys who lost a barn by fire recently, was well attended by neighbours and friends. Everyone had a very enjoyable evening and gave splendid support to this benefit. The Christmas Country Fair at Saltford Valley Hall is in full swing this week. It opened on Wednesday and will be open again this Saturday, October 15, from 10 'a.m. to 6 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sudyk of RR 6 Goderich became grandparents for the first time on October 8. Their daughter Christina and husband John Garrick presented them with their first grandchild, Joseph Gordon, born in Alexandra Marine and General Hospital in Goderich. Mr. Jim Clark, son of Mrs. Tait Clark, is in Algeria working as an electrician with the oil rigs in the Sahara Desert. The family will be going over the middle of November to live at Palma, Majorca, where the children will be going to an international school. This is the second time Jim has gone on a project of this type, and it has many advantages, one of which it affords him and his family a wonderful education in travel. The reason this opportunity was offered to Jim is because he has worked -with the Oil Wells for many years. Jim's home is in the Drayton Valley Oil Country, Alberta. Congratulations are in order to Robert Rourke of Colborne and Michelle Austin who were married at Kingsbridge on Saturday October 8.
