moved the ball well but had
difficulty scoring when In
close. This was one area
where the need for im-
provement was noted by
coach Ray Donnelly.
Another weakness Donnelly
felt the game showed 'up in
the Vikings was the difficulty
they experienced in stopping
Centrals inside running, but
all things considered coach
Donnelly and his assistant, Al
Drennan, had good reason to
be optimistic following the
game..
The Vikings scored first on
a three yard sweep by
quarterback Bill ,Walters in
the second quarter. The
touchdown was converted by-
Eric
yEric Mitchell.
A 63Nyard punt return by
fleet -footed Dave MacKenzie
gave the Vikings their'only
other major score in,lhe final
quarter. Mitchell again
kicked the Convert.' Bernie
Van Osch was credited with
the other Viking point when
he tackled a Sarnia runner in
his own end zone following a

Defensively, the Vikings,
did a good job of containing
the obviously larger Sarnia
team. The Viking coaches
saw the game as providing a
good opportunity to get some
experience for their squad
and get their rookies into-
; ame conditions before the
start of the regular schedule
today (Thursday).
Both the senior and junior
Vikings begin Huron -Perth
conference action in Stratford
today against the Nor-
thwestern Huskies.
First home action of the
Schedule will be here next
Thursday when Norwell will
provide the opposition.
