A motion was carried to have council apply for in- terim payment of subsidies under the Public Tran- sportation and Highway Improvement Act on ex- penditures made in 1977 in the amount of $122,880.06. Council will pay the general accounts of $25,796.55 and the road accounts of $6,389.41. Council adjourned to meet again on October 4 at 8 p.m. in the Belgrave Community Centre Room, as water heaters and sentinel lights. Under administration $2,000 was set aside for promotion of business in- cluding conservation and public relations, $62,000 for meter reading, billing and collecting, $85,500 for ,com- missioners com-missioners fees and ex- penses, building expense and general office salaries and $1,500 in conservation costs to total $151,000. Roulston said that the $207,098 set aside for capital works was a misleading figure since it included costs the utility faced that would be paid back by customers. He said $127,574 was the cost for hydro services in three subdivisions in town and that the money would be paid back to the utility by the developers. The remaining Playhouse hosts provincial draw Huron Country Playhouse .plays `host to the Provincial Draw on Friday, September 30. Also attending were Harold Good for information regarding building, on lot 10 Concession 1; George Morley regarding buildings on Plan 13: John Talbot regarding severances; John Greydanus regarding building permits in Holmesville'and Clark Teal to report on Goderich Hospital. A by-law to exempt certain classes of businesses from the prohibition in the Retail Business Sales Act, was given three readings and passed by council. It was moved and seconded that Mr. Pesces' plan of subdivision be approved as per questionnaire and that J. M. ,Driver's request to in- crease the size of his trailer camp be filed until council checks on the sites of the proposed trailers, on the proposal to use one privy for each two trailers and on the advisability of servicing the entire area by the use of privies. The clerk was instructed to prepare a speed limit by-law for the roads in plans 23, 25 and 26 and two yield signs for the same area. Council ob- jected ,to a number of the signs erected by the Ministry of Transportation and Communication as many of these signs hindered visibility. An application by G. Lobb •for a tile drain loan of $1,800 was ipproved by council. Re-elected Jim Nell, of 'Quality Produce, Exeter, was re- elected by unanimous vote as vice president, Ontario Rutabaga Council, at the recent eighth Annual Meeting, held in Board Room, Ministry of Agriculture & Food, Milton.. E.L. Chrddlelgh, Toronto, was re-elected president and R.E. Goodin, Oakville, continues as secretary - treasurer. New directors to the Council are Bob Stove', Mitchell, replacing W,J• Rider, Ariss; and Frank Bickle, Woodstock, replacing `"Roy Facey, Bright. • E.L. Chudleigh was elected as representative Q,F,V,G,A, and Frank Vanneste, Clan- deboye, as representative to the provincial research committee. Janes Rennie, West Hill, will continue as auditor. The Council was organized with constitution and charter granted in 1969.
