The children's program was as follows, solo, Anita FA% 4-H� leaders honored About 400 former and present 4-1-1 leaders, agriculture representatives and home economists of Huron County, their husbands and wives, attended ,the 25th anniversary banquet and reunion at Blyth arena on Saturday July 23. This was a very friendly and interesting gathering with government personnel, Bob McKinley,, M.P., Murray Gaunt, M.P.P. and Jack Riddell, M.P.P. bringing greetings. The guest speaker Bob Carbert, General Manager of the Ontario Agriculture Museum at Milton em- phasized the 4-H work and his- special isspecial interest in the Museum at_.Milton which is gaining in popularity and size to the extent it is able to employ about 30 students this Colborne corner Gertrude Kaitting, correspondent, 524-2076 year. Several 4-H leaders and interested guests spoke briefly voicing their interest and satisfaction of the results of the 4-H work in Huron County. Tap dancing was done by Angela Schneider, Carla Hebert, Joanne Slater and Karen Whetstone. Claudia Hebert sang accompanied by Monica Hebert. Shelley Powell gave two readings,. and Diane Bromley sang a solo ac- companying herself with her guitar. Christine and Rhonda Stadelmann sang a duet, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Prizes went to Claudia Hebert for the lucky glass, birthday nearest, Anita Distri ne Young man dies in farrn mishap The area was shocked to hear of the sudden passing of Jim Foran, son of Mr- and Mrs. Gordon Foran- of St. Augustine on Saturday, July 23 due to a farm accident. Jim was in his 17th year and was a student at Goderich District Collegiate Institute. His body rested at his home until Wednesday morning, July '7. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Augustine Roman Catholic church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Sincere sympathy is offered to the family and relatives. The card report prepared by Mrs. Andrew Kirkconnell was given and thank -you notes read. The members decided to again sponsor the 4-H program fall project, Featuring Fruit. Plans were made to hold the next --meeting at the home of Mrs. Robert Peck at 2 p.m. Mrs. Leonard Archambault and Mrs. Thomas Haggitt will be in charge of contests and a social hour will be enjoyed following the dessert lun- cheon. Mrs, Leonard Archam- bault, public relations officer gave out medallions from Murray Gaunt which was to observe Queen Elizabeth's Silver Jubilee.
