Thirty ladies turned out for the regular ladies' night fun on June 7, with Mary C. Lassaline hitting the longest drive on number 7. This gal is really playing a great game of golf, having set a ladies' record for the Maitland with a round of 38 ! Other winners were: first' flight - Doris Paquette, and Verna Jackson, putts; second flight - Verna Kane, Chris Hoffineyer, Jane Deathe, putts;' third flight - Joan McDougall, Diane Melick, tF putts; special flight - Laurie Banter, Lynn Edward, with Laura Anstett, Janice Warrilow, Sally Walker, Pat Wilkinson all tied for the putting prize. Paul shot a low gross of 14 and was presented with the John Sturdy Memorial trophy by Karen Sturdy. Junior Girls: Heidi Wick, 60 metre, standing broad jump, long jump; Melaine Jeffrey, Baechler top Kinsmen golfer BY CHRIS WILDGEN Another week has passed at the golf course, with the two main events being the Lumber and Building Material Association of Ontario tournament on June 8 and the Kinsmen tournament on ,; Sunday, June 12. The L.M.B.A.O. tourney was a large one with 130 golfers and was followed by a meal. The winner for the day -was E'd Bonney, from Toronto. with low gross of 75. Congratulations to the team of Stan Connolly, John Shaddick, Bob McDougall and Paul Baechler who won the Kinsmen tournament and so have qualified to compete in the Perc Dawson tour- nament in Fort Erie in September. Paul Baechler was also the winner of the day with low gross of 74. He was awarded the John Sturdy Memorial Trophy which is presented in memory of Kin John Sturdy by the Goderich Kinsmen Club to the low gross Zone "B" Perc Dawson Golf competition. Despite the cold, there was still a good a turnout for Ladies' Night. Evelyn Evers was low gross for first flight and Gerry Mountford was low net. Low gross for second flight was Connie Falkiner and low nets were Betty Helesic and Marg Smith. Willa Williams was low gross for third flight and for fourth flight, Karen: Scott was low gross and low nets were Barb Lassaline and Nancy Beaver. For Men's Night, low gross was Bob Greer, and low net was Dennis LeBrun. First flight winners were Paul Baechler, Dennis Lassaline, and Rick Sowerby. For second flight, the . winners were Andy Smith, Tom Love, Bob Cousins, Dave Graf, Harold McPherson, Mike Palmer, Brian Reeve and Lee Arbor. Two out homer saves streak _Bill Black slammed a two out, two run homer in the bottom of the seventh to boost Little Bowl to a 5-3 win over Canada Company in Industrial Softball action recently. The shot kept Little Bowl's undefeated season intact after five games. The Bowlers opened a two run lead at the top of the game using two hits to grab two runs in the bottom of the first.
