Good golfing weather keeps Sunset busy
BY CHRIS WILDGEN
The good weather appears
to be here, and hopefully it
will stay. This weekend saw
good golfing weather, with
warm temperatures and little
or no wind for Men's Field
Day on Saturday and the
Clinton Legion on Sunday.
Men's Field Day started off
bright and early with. break-
fast, prepared by Marty
Buchanan and his committee
(thanks gang!) at nine in the
morning, followed by the tee -
off. Low nets for the day were
in order: Bill Vanstone,
Randy Miller, Paul Batchler,
Tom Love, Bob Cousins and
Ed Harrison.
which was not quite as early a
beginning as Saturday, but
turned out to be even busier,
with even nicer weather!
Ladies' Night this week had
a very good turnout and, as
you know, the golf was
followed by a fashion show,
with a variety of styles,
ranging ,from skirts and T-
shirts, to the casual look, with
pants and a sweater. Corn -

Since the nice weather is
here, (I may seem to be
dwelling on the weather, but,
you must agree, summer is
great! When the weather is
bad, who feels like playing
golf, or doing anything else?)
I hope to see more golfers out
here.
Bad weather can't serve as
an excuse now, and for those
who are beginners, what
better time to start than right
now?
If it's sun you want, you get
plenty of it while walking
around the course. Think
back a few months, when you
were sitting inside, wishing it
was nicer out so you could
spend time' outside. Now,
look out the window. Nice day
for golf, isn't it?

Canada Manpower Centre manager, Ben Hey, recently
announced the appointment of Tallya Palmer as Student
Placement Officer for the Canada Manpower Centre for
Students. Tanya, a Goderich resident, is presently at-
tending the University of Western Ontario. She will be
entering her fourth year in the Physical Education
program in the fall. Tanya's job for the summer at the
Student Centrt is acting as a liaison between employers
in need of summer help and students seeking summer
employment. Students are encouraged to drop by the
Student Centre in the Federal Building at 35 East Street
and meet with Tanya to discuss summer employment.
