Miller advonees to
chess club}'final
There was no action in
Level I play-offs as Charles
MacDonald was unable
to attend, However in Level 2
Brian Miller finished his first
game against Bob Dick with a
win. Brian went on to lose a
close second gariie but
bounced back to win the third
and advance to the finals
against Jim Kingsley,
This series should be very
close as Jim. Kingsley has
1WiCt` played in Level 1 play-
offs and has once won the
second Level championship.
Jim won two of his three
games against Brian through
the regular season. However,
on the other hand Brian
Miller has already won the
most improved player award
this year and ended the
season in first place in the
second level 16 points ahead
of Jim.
.In -the first game of the
series Brian was playing a
strong offensive game and
seemed to have a slight
positional lead. However he
was forced to trade off his
main attack and then made
one Dad move. This one move
cost him the first game.
In third level play-offs Bob
Fitz,james bounced back after
losing the first game to win
