ys' fasts of Moses
nt and Elijah on
to Horeb were not
imposed, but spontaneous;.
Their minds were so pre-
occupied in comiaunion with
God and His service that
bodily appetites were not
considered. (Ex.34:28; 1
Kings 19:8).
Imposed faits are not
needed in the Church. But if
we, as Christians, become so
absorbed in communion with
God, an anxiety for the
conversion of precious lost
souls, we shall then un-
derstand the meaning of the
words:" ,"This kind goeth not
out but by prayer and
fasting." (Matti 7:2 1)
I am so thankful, that while
few Protestants impose fasts,
many practice spontaneous
fasts that are most ac-
' ceptable to God and who are
we or any Mr. Barney to say
that such do not worship our
Lord ir1° spirit and in truth.
Ood tells us in Isaiah 58:5-7
that His chosen fast and
acceptable day is not to af-
flict, to bow down, to spread
sack -cloth," but to Loose
bands, undo burdens, break
every yoke, deal thy bread
to the hungry, and cover the
naked."
Let us in all things know
that we have the favour of
God.

Save electricity,
save money,
There are two ways
saving electricity can save
money.
First, the obvious one.
The less you use, the less
you have to pay for. And to-
day, electricity is simply too
valuable to waste.
Second, something
not so obvious. Ontario uses
more and more power every
year. This means an ever
increasing investment in plant
and equipment...and their
cost is rising rapidly. The cost
of fuels is also increasing
rapidly. These costs inevitably
show up in the price you pay
for electricity.
• You can help to slow
down the growing demand
by using electricity wisely.
Don't Waste it.
Conserve energy,
The future depends on it.
