his front three, especially in
the early going, when the
DRMCo men built up a
comfortable lead. Bill
Hayward was particularly
good in the first four ends.
Teacher No. 2 Team won
their fourth in a row by
defeating a slumping Teacher
.no 3 Team 10-2: Skip Bev
Lindsay used a number of
breaks and some outstanding
shots by vice Ron Ritchie to
move into a commanding
lead by the midway point of
the game. From then on the
Teacher No. 3 team's front
three put continual pressure
on' their counterparts but
Lindsay did not break under
this strain. He made three
key shots in the fifth, seventh
and final ends to keep the
game out of reach for the
opposition.
Diane Verhoef had a fine
night for thelosers but the
battle of the skips was clearly
won by Lindsay.

to Tom and Joanne Jasper
with Jim and Kris Milne from
Durham. Third place went to
John and Joyce Orr with Bud
and Rita Orr from Wiarton.
The fourth prize went to Craig
and Caroline Cass' with Ron
and Sue Ritchie from
Whitechurch.
Winner of the second draw
and overall winner was the
rink of Tom and Brenda Love
with Jon and Donna Hit-
chcock from Kitchener.
Second place went to Greg
and Michelle Hansen with
Tom and 'Jo Page from
Ottawa. Third place went to
Jack and Joan Grace with
Jim and Margarete Matthew
from Toronto. The fourth
prize went to Jim and Sylvia
Bolan with Dave and Linda
Adams from Halton Hilts.
There were no real losers in
that each participating
couple received a prize as
well as a goodie bag filled
with material donated by
local merchants and also had
a fun weekend. All couples
were also eligible for the door
prizes given out during the
Saturday night dance which
were also donated by local
merchants.
This Bonspiel is supported
generously by local mer-
chants and industry. It would
be appreciated, by the Bon -
spiel Committee if par -
ticipants would acknowledge
this contribution, when the
opportunity arrives, by
t mentioning to our supporters
that curlers and the club
recognize and appreciate
their contribution.
Ed Rowe and: his staff are
to be congratulated on their
fine lunch and dinner and Jim
Kincaid for his duties as
drawmaster. A special
thanks goes to the Bonspiel
Committee of Jim and Sylvia
'Bolan with Gus and Nancy
MacLennan. This Committee
has ben working hard since
last fall to organize this
-popular event.
BONSPIEL NEWS
On Monday, March 7 two
teams travelled to Brussels
for a mixed spiel. Consolation
winners in the first draw were
Jim and Barb Hawkins and
Tom Moore and Eileen
Bowman. Second place in the
second draw went to
Jamieson and Faye Ribey
and Ross Veitch and Betty
Cardiff.
On Tuesday, March 8 two
Goderich rinks travelled to
Milverton to compete in a
Ladies' Bonspiel. The rinks
were composed of sylvia
Bolan, Nancy MacLennan
Marj Banks and Marg deBolt
with Lynn Edward, Jean
McGee, Kay King and Gail
Brownridge. Neither team
won a prize but had a fun day
which is what a Bonspiel is all
about.
On Thursday, March 11 a
mixed,tearn of Don and Lynn
Edward with Bill and Kay
King travelled to Mitchell for
a Bonspiel where they en-
joyed a good day of curling.
This past weekend Gerry
Walter made his annual trip
to Midland, Michigan for a
Men's Bonspiel taking a team
of Larry Sturdy, Roger Moore
and Don Tremeer. They were
the•runners-up in the C Event.
COMING EVENTS
The women's closing jitney
is March 30. This should be a
good event rounding off the

curling season for club
members was held this pas
weekend. This event is: the
Annual St. Patrick's Day
Mixed Invitational Bonspiel
with prizes sponsored by

Suncoast Estates.. This
Bonspiel involves teams
composed of one club couple
and an out-of-town couple.
