On Sunday the Stellers 'travelled to Glanbrook sSuth Of Hamilton for a 5 o clock game. Glanbrook come on strong at the first and scored after only 37 seconds of play. This however was their only goal of the game. By the end of the first period the Steelers tied it up as Rob Trebish combined with Larry Madge and Ken Reid. :Tountry Club The winner of the Dominion Road Machinery Co. Ltd., trophy was determined last' week. The winner was Ber- nice Moore's team with Joan Grace, Kay King and Sue Gower. Second place went to Penny Peters' team with Lou•. Bundy, Gerry Zurbrigg and Shirley Ward. Third place on the draw went to Eleanor Erskine's rink with Eleanor Fisher, Ann Kuran.and Linda Bell. Sunday Night Mixed winners were also deter- mined last week. First place went to Tom and Betty Moore with Barry and Monica Page. Second place went to Jamieson and Faye Ribey with Dianne and Phil Foster. Third place went to Don and Lois Haines with Lawrence and Jean Tlatezer. This correspondent is, happy to report that she won the first draw for a dinner for two held at the club on February 25. Pete Graf's rink of Don Mitchelmore, Bill Robinson and Don MacEwan travelled to Seaforth on February 27 to compete in the Divison 13B Intermediate playdowns against Harriston and Palmerston. The rink won their two games and will represent Divison 13B against the Division I3A winner in Tara this Sunday to deter- mine Division 13's representativein future play. On February 26, a mixed team of Don and Lynn Edward with Bill and Kay King travelled to Exeter for a _ Bonspiel and won first prize in the second draw. ' Also on the 28th, a men's rink of Gerry Walter, Roger Moore, Phil Foster and Larry Sturdy travelled to Kin- cardine for a Bonspiel and won the second draw. Cam Bogie's rink of Ron Klages, •Jack MacKinnon and Denis Lebrun travelled to Wiarton for Cash Bonspiel where they placed third in the. Lanny Maillet afternoon at 3 p.m. in Clinton, scored the go-ahead goal for Goderich early in the second period 'assisted' by Larry Madge and Rob Trebish and then Larry came through with the insurance goal minutes later when set up by Rob. With ten minutes remaining in the game Maillet came up the ice on a breakaway and made no mistake. Once again the Steelers came home vic- torious. All Steelers defen- cemen'played an exceptional game. The two squads appeared, evenly balanced and both ran into trouble turning the ball over. However, the usually quick -start Blues were slow getting on, track and by the end of the first half Godericb was leading 40-24. Stratford never closed the gap to less than six points, Pete Cameron led the scoring for Goderich with 20 points. Warren Watt added 13 points. Casey Wildgen scored 12, and Al Sygrove hooped 10. In three weeks therewill be an Ontario Basketball Association tournament.. In Niagara Falls. The Stratford and Goderich teams, who have relied on each other for cgmpetition this winter after the collapse of several other area teams, may have yet another encounter then., x?
