Goderich led 27-11 at the half,
had increased that margin to
98-17 at the end of three
quarters and finished with a
29 point spread

ordered a press on the
Listowel attack throughout
the game and the plan worked
throwing off the Listowel
shooters. Dave Dusseldorf
was the Listowel marksman
with 10 points.
Meyers said he felt the
team -that wanted the
championship the most would
come out on top - in the

Stratford Central series. He
,said Stratfordhad a couple of
good shooters but if Goderlch
came up with good games
they could take the. series.
Stratford beat Goderich in
regular season action by 11
points.

The loss to the Huskies was
the only defeat suffered by
the Vikings in regular

Beacom and Gauley stood
their ground -lathe -Viking key"
in the third quarter forcing
the Wingham forwards to
shoot from outside. The two
guards then worked together
controlling the backboards
through the quarter and
limited Wingham to just
seven points.
Viking forwards had not
been held down so effectively
by the Mustang back court
and had boosted their lead to
15 points after three quarters.

round action. Stratford
Central also defeated
Wingham 37-34 and then beat
Exeter, 35-28, in the cham-
pionship game.
Exeter defeated Mitchell
43-24 and Listowel 31-24

In the consolation final, St.
Mary's defeated Mitchell, 28-
22.

hit four points. With just over
a minute remaining in the
game, Beacom drew his fifth
foul and retired with 16 points
and 11 rebounds, many of
which were offensive. Iain
Lambert grabbed four on the
afternoon as did Jon Barz.
The Vikings posted a 20
point lead early in the fourth
quarter and - gave their
starters a breather sending in;
the second string. Darryl,

and began to eat up the
Goderich lead .:quickly. The
three combined Por 92 of the.
Mustang points, Anderson
getting 16, Underwood 15 and
Campbell 11. .
With still plenty of time left:
the Mustangs had reduced the
Goderich lead to 55-44 when
coach - Phil Bugter put the
starters back on the floor.
The move didn't phase the
Mustangs however and they
kept hustling and coming at
the confused Vikings and
were turning plays into three
point moves drawing fouls
one after another.
At 55-52 the Mustangs sank
a shot from the top of the key
but the referee disallowed the
score ruling that a Mustang
had been in the key too long.
Goderich added a two pointer
of their own and hung on to

first game will be in Stratford
Thursday afternoon and the
second . here in Goderich
Tuesday afternoon. In
regular season action this
year the Vikings stopped the
Ramblers 52-34.

22 points against the Vikings.

The Vikings, who had
clinched first place with their
win Tuesday, got 16 points
from Greg Beacom and 10
each from Iain Lambert and
Jeff Baechler. Bill Gauley
and Dave Mackenzie chipped
in with six points apiece and
Jon Barz had five. Perry
Teachert added two points.
In their game against
Listowel the Vikings showed
fine team effort and poise.
Jeff Baechler led the
Vikings with 22 points. Greg
Beacom had 14 and Dave
Mackenzie 13 for the winners.
Bill Barwick added eight, Bill
Walters seven and Mark
Hovey and Perry Teichert
four each. Iain Lambert and
Jon Barz each had three
points and Bill Gauley had
two.
Stev,e Kaufman led the
Lords with 17 points.
