Prime Minister Albrecht of
the State of Lower Axony has
stated the article s& i, "The
state government will not
give the go-ahead until it is
satisfied there Is no risk from
the dump to the population".
That 35 foot cube(?) you
mentioned is a small part of a
very large problem. They say
it's not quantity but quality
that counts. Dr. Scott is ob-
viously duping anyone who
believes that. we are
"returning the radioactive
-elements to the earth where
they came from." Such •a
statement is blatant fraud.
Please check the figures
yourself.
Natural uranium in the
earth cannot be compared to
spent fuel being put back into
the earth. Without going into
the mathematics, "the spent
fuel must be isolated for -a
very long time - about a
million, years for the
radiation to reach that of
natural uranium." (W. M.
Campbell, the Management
of Radioactive By -Products
from a Nuclear Power Plant,
`AECL 1973.) -
Predictions also give us»a
total of 100,000 tons of nuclear
waste by the year 2000 —
enough to fill a football
stadium . according to
Pollution Probe, Ottawa. •
Once again, we've got the
cart before the horse! We
have no right to create lethal
and life -altering
radionucleides before we,
know what to do with them.
Plutonium has been called
"The Element of the Lord of
Hell". You , would do your
readers well to tell them why
it has that name.
Respectfully,
Paul Carroll,
Seaforth.

Our good friend Arnold

capacity. We will be sharing
the .program with the Treble
Singers. This was an . out-
standing Goderich Ladies'
Choir which . has disbanded
but is being reunited for the
occasion.
We realize that this in-
vitation will be going forward
to many former .bandsmen
who have not played for a
number of years. We -would
very much like to have you as
our guest on this date whether
or not you are willing to ac-
tively participate • in the
music.
A. picnic is planned for the
afternoon of July 3 in Harbour.
Park to which our band
cordially invites- ° you.
Following the picnic there
will be a brief rehearsal of
several numbers' which we
hope you will join with us in
playing at the evening's'
concert.
Please let me.• stress the
desire of your presence
whether or not ;you are still
actively playing:
Our "Laketown Band",

of twelve adults and eighteen

years we have sponsored
. weekly -Sunday 'evening,

August in the Goderich

As a result of the
tremendous success of the
concerts the Goderich Lions

four years ago..It is equipped
with the very best in modern:
