Goderich dropped both their games 7-2 to Wallaceburg arid 4-1. to Morpeth.. The tournament was the first ever for the iGoderich; Oldtimers and `their Wallaceburg encounter wa,s the first game o_f'their short history. They -put two periods of good hockey .together but couldn't keep pace with the experienced Wallaceburg club and gave up five goals in the third period to' get knocked back tothe con- solation series. Wallaceburg grabbed a one: goal first period Lead before Larry Powell made Goderich Oldtimer history. .•with his team's first goal. The equaliser was shortlived however, as Wallaceburg notched a second tally against Goderich starting netminder Mike Russelo. fiord Walters tied the game for a second time but the Goderich )segs gave out and Russelo and reliever Ed Rowe fell victim to five third period goals that sent Goderich.to the B. series. The ' first game of the : consolation round pitted Goderich against Morpeth and once again the final period spelled .doom for Industrial race tightens ' The fourth week -: of . Industr.i•al League Curling ' saw some high scores and indications that the curling is getting better and better each week. The teams appear to be ,. enjoying . this year', curling and laughter is often heard above .thesweeping and the swearing. One team thatwas not laughing this week was' the Kinsmen Team as they were the unhappy, victims of an 11-2 drubbing at ,the hands of the Teacher No. 1 Team. A five ender in the fifth end was the turning point as Doug Bun- dy's team evened their record at two and two. Teacher Team . No: 2 consisting solely of elementary teachers, did not enjoy the same success. They 's Electrics for 54 Last weekend Graham ' Electric Noyice lost 3-0 to Hanover in Vanastra then came back Sunday against. the same team in Hanover ".and carne away with a `5-1 victory. 'In the Saturday game, the Electrics were sluggish both ways and were constantly knocked off the puck by the Hanover . team. Two power play goals in the first period was all Hanover needed for the victory:Dave Jewell and Scott Garrow _did_._avell of ._ fensively but both were. stopped on breakaways. The four def enc emen, Darren Conrielly, Kelly Allen, Shawn. Tarder and . Steve Schatz played their best game of the . season. On. Sunday, the Electrics were anything but sluggish,. and they were the • ones knocking people off the puck. Every member of the team did a great job backchecking - and moved the puck of- fensively as well. They got off to a fast start as .. Todd Jeffrey banged in Dave Jewell's rebound at the 14 second mark.
