The party spirit was in
evidence Friday eve>iling as
31 Green Thumbers gathered
for their regular monthly
meeting and farewell party
for their Ieader: Mrs. Jean.
Barnett.
Mrs. Barnett -showed slides
of• past and presenttrips, on
which she has ' taken the
children. Slides of . the gar-
dens in the garden— contest
were also shown. •
Children With 70. per cent
out of a possible 100 were
given a rose bush. to plant and
grow for their own.. The
group's sponsor, Art Bour-
deau was on hand to,present
the winners with their prizes.
A lovely departing gift was
presented to Mrs. Barnett on
behalf of the Green Thumbers
by Jenny Madden Jr. This
. small token from the children
showed Mrs. Barnett that she
will be missed for tidemonths
she is to be gone" '
At the close of the meeting
' each child was given . tulip
bulbs. "
After a lively- meeting on
Friday night it.' was off to
what turned out to be . a
successful Green Thumbers

Saturday morning. .Along
With seniors many of the
older juniors turned up to
help. : e
The ticket draw also took
place at the Mall on Saturday.
Mrs. Agnes Bedard donated a
lovei"y. dried •. flower
ar-rangment as first prize and
the lucky winner of this `was
Lucille Hehderso.n. Second
prize. was a delicious looking
teddy hoar rake •h.tked by
Mt;s Genny Madden and the
ititi49. winner of this was.
Lorne Love. Both winners are
residents of Goderich.
The proceeds of the draw
are being ;donated to the •.
