The gardenof the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Sully
was transformed into a gaily -lit fairy land setting for the
summer 'evening wedding of Anne Janette Hopkinson
and Ramon Michael Ernest Tafeit on Saturday, August
21,1976.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. -Bruce Sully
and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs, Ernst E. Tafeit,
all of Goderich.., •
The Reverend G.L. Royal performed the double -ring
ceremony on a green dais, flanked with lighted, can-
delabra and white gladioli and sonya roses..'
Mr. .Lorne Dotterer, organist, provided music..
preceding and during the ceremony.
The radiant bride, who was given in• marriage byher
step -father, Mr.. Bruce Sully,,' wore an original gown of
white . hand -embroidered Nottingham lace, with
scalloped hem; extending into a chapel train. Her,'
whisper` double -tiered shoulder length veil was held by a*
sprig of white stephanotis. ; She carirked, a cascade of
gardenias and stephanoti"s.
Attending the bride -were her. sister Miss Jane
Hopkinson as maid°of honor, and as bridesmaids, Miss
• Monica Tafeit, sister of the groom, and two . school
'friends of long standing,, Miss Lesley Lambert of.
Goderich- and Munich, and Miss Glenna Heaver of Oak -
vine. These girls wore -matching gowns of frosted shrimp
jersey skirts and changrie and shrimp draped -bodices
With braided halter straps 'of, shrimp and. champagne:'
They carried nosegays of sonya roses and white. carr
nations.: •
-Mr. Donald Pollock of London attended the groom, and
the- ushers • .Itere-.Messrs. Clare Sager of Goderich,,,
Patrick MaloA'Aey of Toronto -and Michael Vrooman•of
Simcoe." The groom and his attendants wore ivory
tuxedos with velvet trim.
A reception followed in the house at which the parents
of the newly weds joined in receiving the'many guests.
Mrs. Sully wore a dark green crepe dress with matching
chiffon stole and corsage of white roses. Mrs. Tafeit wore
a gown of champagnechiffonwith corsage of coral
stephanotis.
`' A buf eT supper was served to the guests seated at
circular tables, with green table=cloths and centred with
candles and flowers. ' • -
Dancing followed after which the bride and groom left
on a honeymoon to Cape Cod. For travelling, the bride
wore a navy and; white stripe suit with matching ker-
chief. '
Mr. andMrs `Tafeit are residing in Don Mills. •
Prior to their` marriage, these young people were
honoured by many friends. Misses Glenna `-Ieaver_and
Nora Guiness entertained with a wine and cheese party.
Mrs. J.W. Britnell•and daughters held a pantry shower
one Sunny morning by their pool al Nelson Street. Mrs.
Russell Gemmell entertained at her home. Anne's aunt,
Mrs. Alex -Walker helda luncheon at the 13enmiller Inn.
, The groom's parents entertained the•rehearsal party,
also relatives ,and friends .to a buffet supper at the
— Maitland. Country Club. '

Belgrave, who sang. "I Believe'-'', before the ceremony,
and "The Wedding ;Hymn" -by Handel during -the signing.

Given in marriage by tiereldest brother-, Robert Wilkin
of Port Stanley, the bride wore a gown' of quiana dupont
jersey,. featuring .an empire bodice, long lily. point
sleeves, high -rolled collar, and chapel train which fell
' graceft1 lyt from the shoulders of her dress. The. „beige
and collar were trimmed with tiny seed pearls, A crown
of quiana jersey and seed pearls -held her shoulder -length
' two-tiered veil. Her flowers were a trailing bouquet of
yellow roses, combined with white miniature carnations,
stephanotis and baby's:breath.
The bride's attendants were Miss Ann Haines of Red
Deer Alberta, as maid of honor; Miss Kristine Maillet,
the groom's sister, and Miss Margaret Wilkin, the'bride's
sister, as bridesmaids.
Their gowns were of sapphire blue, polyester satin,
featuring .chanel-styled jackets, with elbow length
-sleeves. They -wore gold engraved lockets, a gift from the
bride and groom, and carried: -trailing bouquets of
iceberg mums,. yellow miniature' carnations and baby's
breath. • '
'The groom wasattended by Mr: Ralph De weerd, as
best man, and theguests were ushered by Peter Bos, RR
2 Goderich, and.Danny Maillet, the groom's brother..'
Thereception and dinner followed in the Legion Hall,
.Goderich. The bride's mother received the guests;
,,,gownedin dusty rose polyester shantung;- with a corsage
of ;yellow miniature carnations, ,edged with shades of
rose.
She was assisted by the groom's' mother, who more a
three -piece -co-ordinate of champagne and brown quiana
jersey, with a'corsage of. yellow miniature carnations.
-The bride's table :was centred with a three -tiered
.wedding' cake decorated by her cousin, Terry Worsell.
The guests tables featured centrepieces composed of ' .
brandy snifters' withvotive candles, surrounded with
yellow and white
