the newly decorated United
Church at Holinesville with
Rev. J. Oestreicher in
charge.
On Sunday September. 26th,
Holmesville United Church
will observe its anniversary.

p.m. There will be music by
the choir with the Rev: Barry
PasSmorenof W ingham as the
speaker. •
The,. Holmesville Church
has a 'new look" with the
painting of the pews and
woodwork as °well as a new
rug. The congregation invites
'friends and -rriembers of the

anniversary.
U.C.W. meets
The Holmesville UCW held
their regular meeting which
took " place ' Tuesday Sep
<tember 14', with 1VIrs:: Barry
Watter's group in charge of'.

centered on thoughts of fall
responsibilities with the
mission study in health care
in China. The president
conducted the business: The
Fall Regional meeting will be
held October 5th at Nile.
Plans were made for the
Annual Bazaar November
10th at the White Carnation.

families of Mrs.. Brogden
MacMath, who, passed away,
in Goderich recently.
Back from a recent trip to
the West are. Alice Parker,
and daughter Carolyn who
flew' to Mission, .British
Columbia' to have.:•a visit with
her, daughter Nancy. They
went to Fort Langley which
was the firs"tcapital of British
Columbia, and while visiting
there, they met a Mr. Clark
who had been Stationed -at
CFB Clinton and had a visit
with him. Also, they went to
Grouse Mountain where they
left on the air-lift to the top of
the mountain. Then' to_.the
Capalina Fishery which they
found very interesting. Also a
visit to the Pacific National
Exhibition Visiting the
,omen's Institute • groups,
taking notes of the° crafts on
display. Alice and Carol had a
dinner at the Kalbe Japanese
restaurant:, where your meal
is cooked:right in front of you,
at the same time being en-
tertained by the chef, A very
enjoyable trip . was had by
Alice and Carolyn 'while
William stayed et home with
his two feet on the ground.
Uncle.. William Snell of
London spent' Sunday with
the Betties. At age ,86, he
'drove up from London, and.is
making plans for his drive to
Florida for -the winter. I knew
retired Detective Snell when
he had his .beautiful dahlia
garden in Lambeth. •
Say-, I do believe the
Holmesville ladies are
supposed to clean • the
basement of the church for
the anniversary. •
Isobel Harris is going to
London to spenda few days
with her sister, Irene Durnin,
and do a little shopping, also
visit with herr Aunt Maggie
Mair, of London.

Burgess addressed the group
and explained-, the intricate
• process of preparing the raw
fibre, a derivative of coal and
oil, • into different types, of
thread, that will be of suitable
elasticity for making the
manyman=made materials
we enjoy. The huge cones of
fibre will not accept dye until
it is processed iii the plant. He
stressed the fact that we thust
buy "Made in Canada"
products to keep 'plants like
this operational. ,

were divided into two groups,
.one guided through'the•plant
by Mr. Burgess, the other by
Mr, Stoner, who explained• the'
various activities of Textral
Fibres Ltd.
After the tour of the plant,
the members met at the home
of Mrs. • Laura_ McClarty.
