The Goderich Signal-Star, 1976-09-16, Page 15Agriculture Park shines Dear Editor,, • On Friday, .;,September 3, 197.6- the new ball lights at Agriculture Park were turned: on for the first time. • With the completion of• these lights, Goderich can now boast of having one of the best fastball parks in this part of .Ontario. Our ballleague is very 'pleased- with these new' lights and we feel they, will contribute greatly to the, fine' calibre of ball that is •now being played on this .diamond. McGee - McGee hammered Gords 13=4' in the first encounter and then edged. the Sports 3-2 Sunday in second game: McGee coupled 10 hits with four Gords errors to score 13 runs in last' weeks game, eight in their final two at bats. They jumped into a 4-0 first inning lead on the strength of a three runhomer- by;Doug Spitzig and then John Warr doubled in-the4inal first in- ning run, ' scoring Russ- Pruder. Paul Kelly added another run in the second inning -as he singled, went to `second a wild pitch and scored on an error. Spitzig was a tower of power for McGee with 'three hits in four at bats . including " two home runs and:a run scoring double. Toni Crawford - and Ron Sowerby chipped in with two__hits apiece and scored five runs between them.
