open house, Thursday
evening, April 22. John Kane,
principal: •andchairman for,
the evening", ' welcomed the
• splendid Crowd and'infermed
'them of interesting en-
tertainment specials during
the evening.. He created •a
very friendly feelirig between .
parentsand the school. •
Itwas. gratifying to see the
many .mothers and :fathers'
looking over their children's
books, talking to the teachers
and learning more eta• the
educational progress. of their
children, meeting friends, or
just enjoying an hour or so. in
the school: atmosphere again.
For this time of year the •
Easter 'theme was very ap-
prdkriate with pictures and
paintings of Easter eggs arid'
bunnies, etc. on display on the
Walla.
In the kindergarten room
parents seemed deeply in-
terested in :what their
• children were learning in the
first year of school. In
another classroom several of
the young students were
receiving free music lessons
on the guitar.
In another classroom one of
the students was in-
srumental. in, conducting a
rapid calculation test for any
:of the public who were in-
terested. The gyritnasium
_ proved to be the . centre ole
entertainment and during the
first part of the evening
several students 'gave a
: display of gymnastics. "„,...
In . the latter part 'of the •
,evening a group of students,
under .the direction of Mr.
Snell, teacher, and Mrs:
Dustow, musical sinstrtiator,
gave a .musical performance.:

enjoyed the delicious dessert
lunch, cards were enjoyed'
with Mrs. J. Horton in charge
of the game of 500, Winners
were Mrs. 'G.C, (Ted) White
and, Mrs. R.W: Bell of
Goderich; ,.
Mrs.' -Geo. Robinson was in
charge of the` euchre with
Mrs. Ida Johnston and Mrs.
Christlaw of Nile as winners.
Door' prizes were won by
Mrs. •Leslie Pitblado, RR 5,
Goderich and Mrs. Wm.
Reed,-Qoderich. There was a
splendid display ' of home
baking for the bake sale.
