:Love makes the world go
'round, love makesthe world;
go 'round," so goes the song
' of another decade. Everyone
is fascinated by that word
'love'. •
'Singers sing about. it,
w=ritersd "'write '-abou`tn
preachers preach about it and,
everybody searches,, .for it.
• Yet,.for many, it:remalns an
illusive . factor, Others' 'tllknk,
they've found .•it ,for awhile',;
only'to realize, later on, that'
What they ` thought _ was., the".
real thing has. gone sour:
It's not so amazing that we

hope .someday, someplace
we'll.find that beautiful thine
that will transform our lives
it's not go amazing when_ you
consider the alternative,
The -alternative. is ~hatred,,
greed, self centreness, ' in-
differenee, apathy, jealousy
and a hundred other.Jhings-
that we know make .fife a'-
'mess. What is amazing is .that
we so often hang ti'gh'tly unto
• these mise'rab'le qualities and
as long as we do we can really
never experience: love ...not
love in its purest and best
f orm. '
• The crunch is that it takes
sacrifice to° love and to be
loved, and that's just what
many of us don't want.
Love me, we say, : just as' I
am- . but if you want me ,to
love you, you had-, better
shape up, Buster. .
The .Bible has much to say
about the ' subject. '"Many
floods cannot drown love".
says the author of the . Songs
of Solomon, ,He's .right• Love'
is the •'strongest, most
cementing force. in the World.
• It's'. also .a source of power
and what a pity more people
• don't tryiit:.
Paul laid down some pretty
good ground rules about love•
• in Corinthians when he said
something like this': •
Though .I go out and sway
