Anne of ,Green Gables is not

appeared in 1908,. this form of
Anne soon became a
household word. Then there
were several' film .versions of
the story, including a 1956 TV
musical with lyrics by: Donal
Harron, and music by Nor
rnan Campbell.'In 1965, 'th

Theatre in Prince .Edward
Island, the locale of the novel
commissioned a stage ver
