A very pleasing event tool;, place
at the Methodist parsonage, Kirkton,
at 1.30 o'clock on Thursday, Feb.
18th, when Iva Denham became the
bride of George W. Harrah. only son
of Mr. and Mrs. Fergus Harrah, of
Usborne. The bride was married in
her travelling suit of navy blue
serge and black velvet hat. After
the eeremony the young couple re-
turned to the home of the bride
where a dainty wedding dinner was
served to the immediate relatives
and intimate friends of the bride and
groom. An added interest was given
to the day, it also being the bride's
birthday. The many beautiful pres-
ents testified to the high esteem in
which the young couple are held.
They left on the evening train for a
short hue.eseatetra amid showers of
confetti and good wishes, and on
their return "-111 reside on the
groom's farm on the 12th concession
of Usborne. They will be at home to

the age of 74.
Ottawa Hydro -Electric will return
5 per cent. of their annual payment
to 1919 customers.
Kincardine ratepayers carried by
204 to 6 a bylaw to expend $40,000
on Hydro -electric power.
Hon. W. E. Raney, Attorney -Gen-
eral for Ontario, was elected by ac-
clamation in. East Wellington.

Lukes of Winnipeg propose to illy

S. M. Harvey and his wife, of Cal-
gary, were found dead in bed: it
seemed as if they had taken poison.

A special train of forty-two cars

The embargo on the import of se-
curities into Canada has been accept-
ed by bond dealers and stock brokers,
and will be effective at once.
The Manitoba Trustees' Associa-
tion will ask the Dominion `Govern-
ment to set aside Nov. 11 of each year
as a National Thanksgiving Day.
Premier Drury has decided to pro-
ceed with the extension of the Nipis-
sing Central Railway from New Lis-
keard to the head of Lake Timiska-

Premier Drury described a publish-
ed statement that a commission had
