Novice As lose to London
at Seaforth tournament
After beating London Minor in overtime,
the Goderich McDonalds Novice A team
lost 6-1 to London Major to end their cham-
pionship bid in the Seaforth Tournament,
Nov. 28.
Mark Johnston scored from Craig Cor-
riveau for the only Goderich goal against
the Majors.
GODERICH 3 LONDON MINOR 3
The Novice A's outshot London Minor 7-1
in overtime to win a 3-3 tie in the first
round of the Seaforth tournament.
The Minors scored with just 33 seconds
left in the game to tie the score at three,
after Brad Jones had scored two third
period goals to put Goderich in the lead.
Craig Corriveau and Sean McDade
assisted.
After a scoreless first period, London
scored early in the second. With just over
one minute left in the second Leo Courtney
tied the game at one.
GODERICH 7 STRATHROY 3
The McDonalds Novice A's scored five
third period goals as they went on to ham-
mer Strathroy 7-3 in Shamrock league
play, Nov 28.
The two teams skated to a scoreless first
period, before goals by McDade and
James Moody gave Goderich a 2-1 lead.
Moody, Johnston, Jones, scored in the
third to put the game out of reach.
SEAFORTH 5 GODERICH 0
Seaforth scored three first period goals
and went on to shutout the Novice A's 5-0 in
anexhibition game played in Goderich
Nov. 25.
New Gals move up in bowling
• MONDAY NIGHT
LADIES LEAGUE
The New Gals made a move in the stan-
dings by taking five points from the
Blazers. Good games from June Hayter
165 and Sharon Marshall 196. Lorraine
Jones led the Blazers to a two point win.
Barb's Bunnies had a good night, taking
five points from the Wallbangers. High
games from Mary Lynn Telford 186, Barb
Almasi 208, Bev Whetstone 213, Shirley
Kennedy 271, 726 triple. The Wallbangers
took two points, led by Helen Lewis 202 and
Dianne Scott 216.
The Marionettes and the Pin Pals split
the points with the Marionettes taking
four. High games from Betty Fisher 227,
Marilyn Bannister 256, 649 triple. The Pin
Pals took two points with good games from
Lorna Young 104, Monica Young 147,
Helena Young 155, Anita Aubut 179, Denise
Aubut 220.
The No Names took five points from the
Oldtimers with good games from Rose
Sheardown 164, Irene Hannah 188, Deb
McPhee 203, 211. Brenda Parker led the
oldtimers to a two point win.
Peewee Lions earn another tie
After being idle for two weeks, the
Goderich Liss ,Pee Wee's went back into
action last Saturday against Strathroy
with the hometown Lions tieing yet
another game 3-3.
Strathroy tallied on a powerplay goal
midway through the opening period to take
the lead. Lion's Jason Cook evened` things
up in the second with Jason Jeffrey
assisting also on the powerplay.
The Lions found their legs in the third
period holding a good territorial advan-
tage, but each team were able to score
twice. Jason Cook's second goal of the
game, when he banged in Andrew
McLartv's rebound. aave Goderich a 2-1.
lead. Jason Jeffrey also assisted.
Strathroy struck for two goals less than
a minute apart to take a 3-2 lead.
With four minutes remaining in the
game, Todd Papple picked up an errant
Strathroy pass in his own end and then fed
Paul Wheeler, who was breaking into the
clear. Wheeler was able to get his shot just
past Strathroy goalie Chris Stapleton for
the tying goal.
The Lio-ns now take to the road for a
series of games. They will be in Exeter
Wednesday, Thamesford Saturday, Dor-
chester the following Tuesday and finally
in St. Marys, Dec. 19. The Lions being a
good road team are hoping to expand in
their 3 wins, 3 losses and 4 ties.
Dockstader shuts out Blyth 3-0
Goderich Novice B goaltender Neil
Dockstader stopped four break-aways and
backed his team to a 3-0 home win over
Blyth Nov. 28.
Goderich played ecellent positional
hockey which resulted in three man -in -the -
slot goals.
They scored two goals in the second

Murphy and Danny Smith, and the second
by Ron Wagler from James Rivera.
Craig Vanstone put the game out of
reach in the third with Rivera picking up
his second assist.
The Novice Bs have not given up a goal
in their last two games and this is their
fourth game without a penalty.
