Call Carolyn at Bailey's for information on Bailey's & Maitland Diner New Year's Eve Parties. e UPSTA RS 120 The Square, Uoderieh"5 4.5166 Ron and Kris Klusmeier, Ministers of Worship -Arts from Cascade, Wisconsin will be presenting an Ecumenical Church Music Workshop at North Street United Church (56 North Street) in Goderich on Sunday after- noon, Nov. 29 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. The Klusmeiers are on a 10 -week tour presenting workshops and concerts in eight provinces. The Klusmeier Workshop is designed for Choir Members, Choir Leaders, Church Musicians, Clergy, Christian Educators and others who have an interest in Music in the context of Worship. The 3 -hour Workshop in- cludes the introduction of New Anthems (for choirs of all ages), New Songs and Hymns for congregational singing, Service Music, and "Just Like Salt" - a new collection of 25 Songs of Faith for Children. Ron is a trained musician/composer whose music is sung and recorded throughout the world. Kris is a vocalist with specialized abilities in songleading, drama and communication. Together, they blend their talents to produce new words, music, challenges and ideas to those who attend their presentations. They have worked with. over 1,100 congregations since their full- time ministry began in 1970. Ron and Kris represented the National Of- fice of the United Church of Canada as music consultants for a number of years in the 1970's while maintaining full-time con- gregational responsibilities as directors of local Worship -Arts Ministries in Mississauga, Ontario and Calgary, Alberta. Prior to moving to Wisconsin, they were based at the Naramata Centre for Continu- ing Education in British Coluri'abia for three years. The Klusmeiers were commissioned to create the Theme Hymn for the 1978 World Day of Prayer. Kris wrote the text and Ron. composed the music for the hymn which was translated into 11 languages and sung in over 170 countries. The Government of Canada selected. Ron and Kris as "...Outstanding Young Man and Outstanding Young Woman of the Year 1978 in recognition of distinguished service, notable achievements, and demonstrated leadership."
