(photo by Patrick Raftis) WI holds meeting The Dungannon Women's Institute met at the home of Olive Chisholm Thursday, Nov. 5, with 19 members and one visitor attending. Mrs. Donna Young introduced the speaker, Mrs. Heather McClinchey, Dungannon Postmistress, who gave a most informative talk about Canada Post. Mrs. Willetta McWhinney thanked Mrs. McClinchey, and presented her with a plate. The roll call was: Something I would change, if I could. A short business meeting followed,;then Mrs. Donna Young gave a reading. Joan Dougherty gave a report on a rally at St. Marys she had attended; Beverly Fielder and Roberta Linskill gave a report of meeting at Londesboro. Elmira Finnegan gave a reading in clos- ing "Where have all the flowers gone", in remembrance of World Wars 1 and 2 warriors. Lunch was served by Mrs. Mary Robson and Mrs. Dorothy Harris. Group makes donations A very pleasant evening was held at Mr.; and Mrs. J. H. Johnstone's when the 37th an nual meeting was held. Guests were welcomed by the President Mrs. Johnstone and the meeting was opened by the Scrip- ture reading by the Secretary treasurer,: Mrs. E. Baechler. Each lady chose a verse of a song, and a. reading. Each joined in singing "Others". Approximately; over 127 visits were made: through the year and a thousand good deeds. An hour of social activities took place. Don't laugh , but you probably will, homemade bread and vegetables from the. gardens were gifts as prizes, and it was a sight to be seen watching the dear ladies choose their bouquets. $100.00 was presented to be used for the Suncoast Enterprise ladies work. $185.00 was given to needy people through the year. Guests were Nora Fitzimmons, Mrs. I. Dodd and Mrs. E. Carroll who represented the Suncoast Enterprise. They all joined hands' to sing the lovely hymn "Abide with Me." 4-H group formed Tiger Dunlop Women's Institute are pleased to report the efforts of a few to have a 4-H Group in Colborne. Karen Red- mond and Shirley Stoll started a group this term called "The Four Spuds" with pro- ject "A taste of Ontario Fruits and Vegetables". They had their last meeting and several of the Institute members join- ed them and enjoyed the evening. The girls and leaders and several of the Institute members will be able to join them for Achievement Day scheduled for Brussels Community Centre, Brussels, Thursday, Nov. 19th at 7:30 p.m. Tiger Dunlop Women's Institute meeting will be Thursday, Nov. 26 at 1:45 p.m. at Colborne Twp. Buchanan recently were their grandson Mr. & Mrs. Brad Buchanan and. family, Brampton, and also Tim Buchanan, from St. Thomas. Mr. & Mrs. R.
