Tuckersmith council discusses rezoning
At , the Tuckersmith Township Council
meeting Wayne Caldwell of the Huron Coun-
ty Planning Department and Rod and Ken-
neth Doig of the Seaforth Golf and Country
Club were present to discuss the proposed
rezoning of a portion of the land on part of
lot 10, Concession 2, Huron Road Survey, to
accommodate further plan of subdivision
for Egmondville.
Mr. Caldwell explained that at the time of
the passing' of the official plan for the
township the lands had been designated for
urban development and the same intent had
been indicated at the time of the 'passing of
the zoning bylaw. He advised the Doig
brothers they would be required to enter in-
to a development agreement with the
township before the plans could receive
final approval.
As there were no objections to the propos-
ed rezoning, it was the agreement of the
Doigs, the county planning department.and
Tuckersmith council that the rezoning
should proceed.
Mr. Caldwell also outlined to council the
opportunity tour that is being organized for
September of 1988 tobring foreign investors
into communities in Bruce, Grey, Huron,
Middlesex and Perth Counties to view and
discuss potential investment opportunities
with local businesses and municipal
leaders. He asked Tuckersmith Township
Council if it was interested in participating
with the tour, and if so then the local
municipalities would be responsible for
preparing a municipal profile and for identi-
fying and organizing potential investment
opportunities before the tour is held.
Tom Prout of the Ausable-Bayfield Con-
servation Authority was at the council
meeting to explain the Township of Hullett
resolution requesting the Authority to make
required amendments so that all member
municipalities and residents in the Bayfield
portion of the Authority would be included
and entitled to apply for and receive those
grants available to the farmers in the
